Tim Young is a New York native, and a lifelong vocalist, pianist, songwriter and performer. He holds two Grammy awards for his vocal work on The Greatest Showman (film) and Dear Evan Hansen (Broadway soundtrack). He made his Broadway debut with the original cast of Next To Normal, and went on to do David Bowie’s Lazarus, and the original Broadway cast of Dear Evan Hansen. He also played “Pippin” on FX’s Fosse/Verdon (TV), and recorded an original version of the Stephen Schwartz classic Corner Of The Sky, directed by Alex Lacamoire (Hamilton). In 2019, Tim won “Best Cabaret in NYC” and was nominated for “Best Male Performer in NYC” for his show Mary, co-produced with Frankie Sharp, hosted at Club Cumming (owned by Alan Cumming), bringing together some of the best talents around New York City into a singular, ever-evolving weekly show. Also in 2019, Tim released the film Stuck (Ashanti, Giancarlo Esposito, Amy Madigan), and original movie musical which he co-wrote, serving as Executive Music Producer, as well as producing the film’s soundtrack (and making an appearance in the film for a duet with Amy Madigan). Stuck had a selective release nationwide, and took home top honors at many film festivals around the country. In 2020, Tim and his five-piece band were developing a residency with The McKittrick Hotel (Sleep No More), and evening of high-energy full-band original songs and original arrangements of pop songs, which was cut short due to the pandemic. Since then, Tim began his weekly live-stream on Instagram (Wednesday nights at 10pm @soundsliketimyoung, The Curfew Show, a live-by-request performance, directly interacting with the audience, taking their song requests on the piano and microphone, and sharing stories about his life, the history of the songs, and conversation with the audience in real-time. Tim has now developed The Curfew Show LIVE, an in-person version of the show, performing weekly at Club Cumming in NYC (Tuesdays at 8pm).
