Prepare for Jesus Christ's Return!

The tribe of Levi, which constituted the priesthood of the Old Covenant, received God as their inheritance. Revelation 21:7 says, “He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.” As the holy and royal priesthood today, you will inherit God! But for you to receive the inheritance, you need to mature. It is by practicing the priesthood, to partake of Christ day by day, that you grow and mature. May you mature today to be the firstfruits and thus to be qualified to enjoy God as your full inheritance!

The biggest defilement to the holy priesthood is spiritual death. The apostle Paul warns, “the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life,” (2 Cor. 3:6). As we train in the holy priesthood, learn to discern what is of life and what is of death. God’s word should always be “living and powerful” causing change in us to mature as the firstfruits, ready for His soon return!

“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.” (1 John 2:20). God is holy and He wants us to be holy as well. To be trained and judged by the Holy Anointing, we need to come to Him poor in spirit and pure in heart (Matt. 5:3, 8). Learn to be exercised every day to pursue and perfect holiness in the fear of God and prepare for His soon return!

“But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy,’” (1 Pet. 1:15-16). To serve God, you must pursue holiness (Heb. 12:14) and perfect holiness in the fear of God (2 Cor. 7:1). If you are not holy in your conduct, how will you be able to discern and teach what is holy and what is unholy, or common? How will you be able to encourage others to be holy? Holiness is crucial for our preparation for Christ’s soon return!

Marriage is ordained by God and thus it is holy and according to His plan. That is why God’s enemy is doing everything to ruin and destroy marriage. The world is designed to stir up the lust of the flesh, especially for young people, with the goal of corrupting their physical bodies. “Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart,” (2 Tim. 2:22) to be transformed into His chasten virgin, His bride, the church ready to meet Jesus Christ as the Bridegroom!

Finding a future spouse weighs on the hearts of many single Christians today. However this focus could potentially distract you from reaching the goal. Remember God’s promise to you: “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you,” (Matt. 6:33). Give your heart to follow Christ, and enter into His rest. Trust in Him to bring you together with a future spouse that will match you in your spirit, soul and body with the ultimate goal to become firstruits at His soon return!

How do we live a marriage life that is godly? The apostle Paul showed us how the marriage life of a man the husband and a woman as the wife is like the ultimate marriage between Jesus Christ and His church, the bride and wife of Christ in Ephesians 5:22-33. Learn to experience Christ in your marriage life with the view of preparing for His soon return according to Revelation 19:7, “for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”

Having the same goal in a marriage is crucial to reaching the goal of being a firstfruit, king and priest. But what does it look like in the daily life? Your mindset needs to be renewed daily to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you,” (Matt. 6:33). To keep our mind renewed, we must pray with priority for the kingdom to come quickly and be assured that He will provide what we need. As we walk by the Spirit, then God will be manifested not only in the family life, but also in the church. Daily keep our eyes on Jesus Christ who will bring us all the way to His throne!

What is the true foundation of a strong Christian marriage? Ecclesiastes 4:12 declares, “Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” A marriage is strongest when Jesus Christ is at its center.

God gives a clear warning: “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers” (2 Corinthians 6:14). But how does this instruction relate to reaching God’s ultimate goal for your life?
