This is a cut to the chase episode for the dads and a synopsis of our birth story from the perspective of a dad who has experienced from start to finish. He also happens to be my husband, Chris Fayling :)

He is keeping it real and just telling his story of what it's like to become a dad. All the things new dads should prepare for like how to support your partner thorough pregnancy, delivery, and the first few weeks postpartum and what it's been like now in the last 2 years as we are about to celebrate our son turning 2!

From pre-conception, a loss, pregnancy, labor, delivery, 13 weeks off work, tireless nights, new beginnings, hormones, and maintaining a marriage through it all, Chris is here and totally relatable to you first-time dads out there! Be sure to tune in because i'm not sure when he's allowed back... JK!

Such a great episode for partners to listen to together and i'm so excited to see what other dad things he can offer in the future.

Here with go with Part 3 and it is all about the first 8 weeks postpartum and what to expect!

We dive right in to discussing the top 10 things new moms want to know more about after baby arrives. From your body recovering, figuring out routines for sleep and feeding, doctor appointments, how to handle visitors and leaving the house with baby, going back to work, and everything in between.

The first 8 weeks is all about bonding with your baby and mama's recovery. It's a learning experience and remember, you are both new at this so just be patient and take this time to learn about one another, you are a team! This is also a great time for you and your partner to share responsibilities around the house and helping care for baby. Although it may seem like a whirlwind and a total change in lifestyle, remember that the newborn stage goes by quicker than you wish sometimes and the lack of sleep, clutter, and not showering for several days in a row are only temporary. Enjoy the moments, whatever they may be, because they don't last forever!

Make sure to check out the links for everything we covered in today's episode and I'll catch you back here next week for our last episode of "All the 'ISH' series."

    Show Notes:

INFANT FEEDING CUES are super helpful in minimizing the frustration between mom and babe as they begin to establish a routine that works best for them.

Here's the information for CARSEAT SAFETY-WHAT BABY SHOULD WEAR. Great tips for when the weather gets colder and how you can be sure your baby is safe!
