What exactly does it mean to be 'salt' and 'light' in terms of our Christian influence?

Maybe - as John Stott suggested in his book The Living Church - a greater righteousness, wider love, and nobler ambition?

What is our task if it is not, as Bonhoeffer said, "To comfort the troubled and trouble the comfortable." What does it mean to you that we are to be salt and light to the world around us?

Are you robbing God? See Malachi 3:6-10.

Are you a cheerful and generous giver?

Are you enjoying your 'harvest of righteousness'? Maybe it is time to re-examine your giving.

We are ALL called to share the 'good news' about our salvation. We are ALL called, as disciples, to be disciple makers. Are you praying for protection from persecution or boldness in spite of persecution?

Words have a tendency to change their meaning. "Cool" doesn't mean that which is related to temperature. The same is true for the word 'fellowship.' When Luke wrote that the early church was 'devoted to... fellowship' it meant much more than just a pot-luck dinner. What all do you 'share' (koinonia) with other Christians?

You have been called by God and gifted in unique ways for ministry! How are you using your 'spiritual GPS' to determine where and how you are to minister... your G-gifts, P-passions, and S-setting?

Are you convinced of the authority of Jesus? Are you committed to the assignment He has given (Matt. 28:16-20) to 'make disciples'? Do you find any comfort in the promises He has given? As true disciples, we will obey his every command, which includes being disciple makers.

Psalm 105:3 says, "Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!" We are created and we have been called to worship God! The Model Prayer begins, "Our Father in heaven, hallowed by thy name." Who (or what) do you worship?

What rubric do you use to determine, upon self-reflection, whether or not you are living up to the calling of God - individually and as a part of the church? What are some essential elements/characteristics of the church? What might we consider essential?

So, how can we know the will of God? How can we "remember [our] Creator? It starts with fearing God and being obedient to His commands. It also involves knowing His Word.
