In a very off-the-cuff, make-it-up-as-we-go episode the boys look back at a year of awful chat, great memories, and even better things to come.
This one goes out to all the fans, the listeners, and those who have been with us from the start - we love you all and can't wait to crack on with season 2!
More to come to the Press To Continue boys, we hope to see you there!

This month (slightly behind schedule) we bring you the big musical bonanza that is Episode 13.
We pay homage to the great video game soundtracks, our own personal favourites, and those of our listeners.
Also on the schedule is the first ever letter to the podcast, Dale-Mail.

This month, three old men yell at the sky and ponder the question: Have games become less fun over the years, or have we become more boring as people? Is the issue one that our time has become more precious as adults, or we expect different things from games, or something else entirely?
We have a chat about whether its even possible to solve this problem, and ultimately what the core issues we have with games today are.
Elsewhere, Sam has been a busy adult so has only just got around to picking up some new indie game called Minecraft that the other boys have already been investing some time in.
Looking forward to next month, we also have some homework for the dear listeners...

In the antithesis of our last episode, we explore the dark side of gaming from over indulgence, to letting our frustrations get the better of us. From toxic rocket league chat, to getting frustrated at our Playstation Ones - we get down and dirty.
As we mention in the episode, we discuss some heavy topics, we are always open to a DM and chat - but we are not professionals. We have included some information on Samaritans below:
To talk about anything that is upsetting you, you can contact Samaritans 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can call 116 123 (free from any phone), email [email protected] or visit some branches in person.

Wowsers trousers its the tenth episode! Given this is our first little milestone on a long journey, we decided to talk about the friends we made along the way so far. From growing up watching our parents play video games, playing couch co-op with our siblings and absolutely sweating it with friends, its been a hell of ride - all leading to this podcast episode. We also talk about how video games have brought us together during and before the pandemic in a big bundle of wholesomeness.
This episode also sees a first for Press To Continue, building on themes of togetherness a long term friend of the gang, Tom joins in as our first ever guest (please be nice to him, or else no one else will come on).
We also recently hit 1,000 downloads in total and are well on our way to 1,500 which is utterly bonkers but that's thanks to you, dear listener, and so in part this episode is also very much dedicated to your fine selves.

In this month's episode, we ponder on whether the genre of survival games is done and dusted, or are new contenders keeping the genre fresh and alive? We talk about the new kid on the block, Valheim, and how it could be the answer to all our problems with the survival genre - could it even top the king itself, Minecraft?
Elsewhere in the episode, Connor tries out a new snappy style of intro that backfires into sillyness, and Sam hasn't played any games but does invent a new phrase, while Zak can't handle the intro. Connor also talks about his new aim of 100%-ing Ghost of Tushima, thanks to Kabi!

Many thanks to hobbymb on Flickr for this month's cover art
In this month's round of silliness, we thought we could discuss the use of emulators and ROMs to play retro games, and whether or not its the right way to play the games we grew up with?
Do emulators hit that those nostalgia neurons in the same way? Is using save states cheating? Would you buy a new gameboy today? These are the questions we absolutely fail to answer properly because we are idiots.
Many thanks to the listeners who wrote in to tell us what they thought!

In this new-year episode Connor, Sam, and Zak take a trip to the future, and discuss what gaming might be like in the next decade. VR, live service games, consoles, we hypothesize it all this month, as well as taking a look at what our beloved listeners think.
Elsewhere, Connor tells a sad tale of a CRT TV he found and lovingly cared for, and also introduces a new play-along at home segment, which might not work as well as he intended...
