There's a new awards show on the block, and it's exactly what we need. How, you might ask? On this show, the categories aren't set. We make them up, specifically to call out certain games for certain reasons. Confused yet? So are we. In any case, we give out a bunch of random video game awards to recognize some of the weird and cool stuff we saw in 2021.
Did you know that Diet Coke is not, in fact, a replacement for water? John Daly doesn't believe it, and it leads to a quick discussion of PGA 2k21. More importantly, we discuss the Animal Crossing DLC, Call of Duty Vanguard, GTA: The Trilogy: Definitive Edition, Pokemon Brilliant Pearl, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Some of them are at least good, while some are great. Meanwhile, Elden Ring looks kinda rad, Halo Infinite drops in surprisingly, and we talk Game of the Year plans.
Deathloop, Metroid Dread, and Forza Horizon 5 are three of the best games of the year, while Mario Party Superstars is a shrug emoji and Fallout 76 is still fundamentally broken despite all the updates and improvements. Meanwhile, the N64 games on Switch are not good, and Ubisoft bullies people who bail on Far Cry 6.
We discuss the cultural influence of the Xbox Mini Fridge, and like good gamers, not a one of us even bothered to watch the Suicide Squad trailer. Anyway, we talk a lot about Metroid Dread, NHL22, Back 4 Blood, and the OLED Switch.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Halo Infinite, WRC 10, and Disgaea 6 among other nonsense like force feedback technology, rap sheets, and pumpkin flavoured stuff that doesn't actually suck.
With Wolverine and Spider-Man 2 on the way, what else might Insomniac working on? Our money is on Charles. Meanwhile, there's a new Life is Strange game, Bus Simulator 21 is better than ever, and James gets lost in Randomness.
So many games, you're head's gonna spin. CoD Vanguard, Rider's Republic, Boyfriend Dungeon, Psychonauts 2, and Quake Remastered to name a few. Meanwhile, we discuss what the heck is up with Halo Infinite, delays, and Twitch walkouts. You dang kids and your beeps and boops, get off our lawn!
Fresh off the bench we've got new life on this podcast, and that makes this the official sports game podcast. Madden, NHL, we cover 'em both, alongside 12 Minutes, CoD Vanguard, and Axiom Verge 2. Meanwhile, we cast serious shade on Auston Matthews.
We talk about a bunch of scumbags, some cool game pass games, and most importantly discover what's potentially the best song of the year. Come have some fun in the sun with us.
Let's go people - Skyward Sword HD ain't half bad, and Aliens: Fireteam Elite actually looks promising! Meanwhile, Rhett gets way into an ancient racing legend, and we officially hire the Press X To Podcast band (it's just James).
