She knows the game on and off the court and is here to give us some insight on what it takes to be a real-estate investor and an agent. WE ARE BACK!! On this week’s episode we explain the reason behind our time away from the podcast, and talk with Josh Santiago, a Philadelphia native, and founder of Empowering Cuts.  Empowering Cuts is a nonprofit organization that travels the country providing free haircuts to homeless individuals because, “when you look good you feel good", a feeling Josh hopes to continue to give to all that sit in his chair.  Josh talks through his upbringing, his mobile barbershop, and how he leveraged his social media account to bring awareness to homelessness.

This weeks topic is heavier than previous episodes. With the uptick of violence we’ve been experiencing in the City of Brotherly Love, we look for safe outlets for youth to get involved in. Help us keep the city’s most vulnerable youth off of the street.

This week we welcome special guest Crystal Perez, founder of The Revolutionary Project. Native from Philly, a product of Camelot, and a graduate of LaSalle University, Crystal grew up with creativity in her blood. Her father was (and still is) her most influential teacher. Using her creative spark and her love of teaching, Crystal works with students out of her own home, helping them see that their voices can be expressed in their artwork. From bringing books to life to expressing creativity through poetry and music, Crystal’s passion for helping youth express themselves is truly felt throughout this entire episode!

With students going back to school in a few weeks, We think it’s time to shine some light on college not being for everyone. It may seem a little controversial, but not everyone thrives in a traditional classroom and THAT’S OKAY! Before signing those college papers, think about if it’s really what you want to do. There are many different avenues that you can take to become successful. Try out new things, talk to that new person, be comfortable with getting uncomfortable.

Shaimir talks through his unorthodox path of being a walk-on Division II basketball player at our Nation's first HBCU (Cheyney University). Shaimir gives listeners an insight on his upbringing, the dedication him and his parents had to his success, and offers words of advise to his younger self.
