The first "Risin' " session for 2024 - and a Happy New Year!! Hey Everybody. Seasons Greetings to one & All!So you know how it is, feeling completely full of festive cheer & the baby jeezus, you sink into the lazyboi teetering on the brink of a food coma when the phone rings – “Hello mate, know anyone who can dj for a couple of hours tonight?” As luck would have it, Id been toying with the idea of a party style disco mix & this seemed like the obvious chance to give it a go. In fairness it turned out to be more Philly than disco & a few of the tracks are tenuous at best, but thats how a party rolls, with a tracklist that went like this.....Fatback vs Chaka – Boss Suga Stop (Si’s Cheeky edit)AC Soul Symphony – K Jee (Joey Negro Philly World)Adri Block & Chris Marina – RunawayGaye Marvin – I Luv MusicMarco Valery ft Sharlene Hector – Free Love (Danny Krivit re-edit)First Choice – Let No Man Put Asunder (Dan Swindle)Mothers Favourite Child ft Saeeda Wright – Dance for Me (Ezel)Johnny Corporate – Sunday Shoutin (Dr Packer Extd Glitterbox)Pound Boys – Bourgie Bourgie (One Knight with Gladys)Moon Rocket ft TSOP- Klop  (live mix)Philly Allstars – Lets Clean Up The Ghetto (Redsoul)Loletta Holloway – Dreamin (Si’s STG edit)Community ft Fonda Rae – Over Like a Fat Rat (Jazz n Groove)N-U-Up – Vibin (Saison)T-Connection – Do What You Wanna Do (Full Intention)Groove Assassin – Move Around The WayDJ Sneak – Keep On Groovin (Pitch Disco)Lou Rawls – Youll Never Find (Summit, Knuckles & Kupper)FOMO ft Chaka Khan, Taka Boom & Mark Stevens – House of Love (Chi-Town Boogie Down)Dj Chus Pres The Groove Foundation – That Feeling (De Poniente)Pitto – Feelin (Joris Voorn)Chic – I Want Your Love (Javier & Bassbreaker edit of Dimitri & Terje)The Jacksons – Let Me Show You (Candy Apple) I hope this gives you as much fun to dance to as it was for me to play it. This gig wasn’t exactly rammed, but Id rather play to a trickle of smiling faces than a sea of bored expressions.I’ll see you all back here again again for more in ‘24 Si x

...festive greetings to you all!! This morning's "Risin' " is all about the usual soulful, deep and broken fare, but (of course) there had to be a little nod to the coming days of peace and goodwill, so book-ended the final part with a couple for the non- "bah humbug" crew!! Regardless, hope you enjoy the selection...and I wish you all a fabulous and blessed Christmas!! Track-listing: Stacy Kidd – Glory (Angel’s Mix)Rob Rhythm - Like Rain (S.
