I'm back!! After a brief hiatus caused in part due to travel, I am back in time to discuss something I've been looking forward to for months:  Downton Abbey The Grand Finale.  This beautifully executed final chapter in the story for our beloved characters was a real treat to watch and to discuss with you. Right on the heels of The Gilded Age finale, this film will fill the period drama void left behind by our favorite HBO drama.  Spoiler alert:  I am recapping the entire film, so if you haven't seen it, go watch and come back!

Hi Friends! This week based on your feedback and continued excitement over The Gilded Age finale I decided to dive a little deeper into one of our favorite depictions in the show:  The Black elite societies in America (in particular the Northeast).  Pop culture as a whole right now seems to be obsessing over this group of people as well and with good reason (7:58 if you want to skip right to it!).  I'll discuss the themes related to this fascinating group that we saw in The Gilded Age and also how they relate to a recent TV and fashion focus on the historically black parts of Martha's Vineyard.  I'll also let you know how this ties into our next entertainment focus: Netflix's limited series, "Sirens".  I have restrained myself from bingeing it and will start covering next week.  
Lastly I get into the (short) trailer for the new Downton Abbey coming this September.  Happily overwhelmed with the period drama goodness that only Lord Julian Fellowes can deliver!

Hi friends!  I hate to say goodbye to our favorite television show but it's time!  Join me as I dive deep into the finale episode of the Gilded Age(Season 3 episode 8).  We'll also be discussing last week's group question/topic: How women over 40 are making friends. And what a finale this was! Major conclusions are reached by the end of the episode and still our favorite characters have so much story yet to tell that we look forward to season 4.  
Next week we will be taking a look at all 5 episodes of Netflix’s Sirens, a drama that is based in modern times but takes a similar close look at the ultra wealthy and their interpersonal relationships, much like the Gilded Age does.
