Matt and Anne discuss Amy Peeler’s book, “The Gender of God” in which Peeler argues that God is not a male in his essence, something she seems to assume many Christians believe, and in which she has some very odd things to say about Jesus’ masculinity. Then they discuss the overall health of the ACNA and how several recent victories should restore confidence in those praying for the ACNA’s reform and renewed orthodoxy.

Matt and Anne discuss the argument that the word “homosexual” was never in English Bible translations until the recent past and that, therefore, the New Testament does not even mention homosexuality as we know it. They discuss the Greek words “arsenokoites” and “malakos”and why the phrase “men who practice homosexuality” is a good translation of those two words in 1 Corinthians 6:9. They briefly touch on the egalitarian argument that the word “submit” isn’t really in Ephesians 5:22. They discuss the importance of keeping your hard copy bibles since pro-lgbt translations may flood the market online and on paper in the future. Finally, they discuss the goodness of God’s civil law and why it is good for modern nations to enact them. The discussion of the word homosexual begins at around the 10 minute mark.

Matt and Anne discuss Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and how to introduce children to Jesus in Sunday School. At the 16:50 mark, they shift to a discussion of the Kigali Commitment and the pledge not to “walk together” with those who claim to be Christian but who are leading people into the darkness. An ACNA congregation in Los Angeles is reportedly collaborating in ministry with an “affirming” Episcopal Church congregation in the latest violation of the Kigali Commitment in the ACNA.

Matt offers a friendly response to a critique by the Rev. George Conger regarding the Nashotah House controversy. George suggested on Anglican Unscripted that those who were disturbed and voicing public criticism were, among other things, “conservative woke people,” who were “witch hunting” and “afraid of cooties. Anglican Unscripted is a great ministry and George is a good man, but I think he’s very wrong about this.”

Anne and Matt talk more about why those professing Christian leaders who promote the lgbtq movement are not Christians and should not be treated as if they were legitimate ministers of the Gospel. They also talk about the old phrase “Love the Sinner, hate the sin,” which, though trite, is also true. Finally, they discuss the Living Church podcast featuring a discussion between an ACNA priest and his friend who is a priest in The Episcopal Church, and how friendships across steep and essential theological divides tend to gradually erode orthodox commitments.”

Anne and Matt discuss the Living Church article describing the blossoming ministry fellowship between ACNA seminarians and Episcopalian seminarians who are fully “affirming.” The article celebrates these fellowships as signs that younger seminarians see the sexuality disagreement adiaphora (non-essential). The present Dean of Nashotah House liked a tweet describing them as “embodying the Gospel.”
