We kicked off 2022 with A Feeling — Winter Chillout 2022 with the intention of releasing two more sets this year. Sadly, the massive collections that were released this year were time-consuming and Party Favorz never got around to releasing a second set.

During that time — I was siphoning off songs that would be included in the next set steadily filling up over the year. When it was finally time to sit down and create the new chill-out set, I went and picked up several more songs that were brand new or I had missed.

Even though a multitude of songs got thrown out during the mixing process (for whatever reason) — A Feeling is one massive chill volume clocking in over 5 hours of pure bliss. Many styles and genres are included here, but they all serve a single purpose and work together in complete harmony.

Frankly, this set came about at just the right time as I've been dealing with the headaches of trying to switch pharmacies for the past 30 days which has left me with 3 days left on my medications and nothing to show for my efforts. The amount of ineptitude I've encountered with a variety of big-name retailers is staggering. Sadly, all these pharmacies use Tech Consultants who aren't pharmacists to fill their prescriptions — most of which don't know their heads from their asses.  You don't allow a customer to sign up for your service and then at the last moment tell them you can't fill two life-saving prescriptions and then just put everything on hold. I won't bore y'all with further details but I will say that I'm at the end of my rope. In the immortal words of Kanye — "I'm ready to go Defcon 3 on these people." No offense to our Jewish friends here because after all — we're talking about pharmaceutical techs who aren't a protected class.

Enter A Feeling from stage left, which has been my nerve-steadying background music as I try to navigate the rough waters of idiots with a 2-year degree. If this is your profession — just know that I did speak with some very knowledgeable people so I don't want to disparage an entire group because there are always fine folk within every profession. Sadly, you can never speak with them again when things go south.

Regardless, my problems aren't your problems but this set may very well help you cope with yours. If anything, use it to relax after a very stressful day or in my case, a month.

Party Favorz is back with our annual HW22 series and this one packs a punch! HW22 is loaded with all the latest dance club hits like the massive "UnHoly" by Sam Smith and Kim Petras, "Cuff It" by Beyoncé, "Believe" by ARCRAZE and Goodboys, and "Miss You" by Oliver Tree & Robin Schulz amongst several others.

Throw in some recurring club hits that just won't let up like "I'm Good" (Blue) by David Guetta & Bebe Rexha, "Drugs From Amsterdam" by Mau P, a hi-energy rework of "Bad Memories" by Meduza and James Carter, and "Yeah The Girls" by Fisher (OZ) and Meryll along with some classic throwbacks that have been reworked for today's dancefloors with some spooky Halloween club favorites and you have a recipe for the holiday's biggest dance party.

One of our favorite new songs out at the moment that's not getting the attention it deserves is "All By Myself" by Alok, Sigala, and Ellie Goulding, which frankly should be sitting in the Billboard Top 5 right now. Ellie Goulding has been hitting some home runs lately but it's almost like ageism that she can't get the recognition she deserves. She's always straddled that line between Indie and Commercial by associating herself with some of the scene's biggest underground talent.

Overall, I enjoyed putting this set together for you. It's a lot of fun and there's enough eye-watering hotness along with several surprises to keep y'all engaged for a couple of weeks while I work on our next Chill Out set.

Happy Saturday! Party Favorz is delivering volume 2 of the Millennial Dance Classics series containing many of the biggest dance songs from 1999 - 2002.

As discussed in our first post for volume 1 — There are many familiar songs for those vested in today's club scene. "9PM (Til I Come)" by ATB, "Better Off Alone" by Alice Deejay, and "Around the World (La La La La La" by ATC have been the basis for several monster hits in the past couple of years. The massive "Blue (I'm Good)" by David Guetta & Bebe Rexha lifts directly from "Blue (Da Be Dee)" by Eiffel 65 or as we used to call it "Blue (I'm in Need of a Guy)" is also featured in this set.

"Pasilda" by Afro Medusa has been reworked a million times since its release as has "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire. Of course, the Phats & Small 1999 remix kicked it all off and is also included.

Some of my all-time favorite songs are also included like "Touch Me" by Rui Da Silva (which was just recently reworked), "Addicted To Bass" by Puretone, and "Big Love" by Pete Heller.

Truth be told, I love everything in this set. Even the quirky "Love Story" by Layo & Bushwacka! featuring a vocal sample by the great Nina Simone is a massive winner. There's a lot of diversity including House, Trance, and Progressive House to keep things interesting.

There were many DJ names you will see throughout these two series. Other than the big room names I dropped last month, Knee Deep, Robbie Rivera, Roger Sanchez, and Illicit (to name a few) were all in high demand during this period. Robbie is still cranking out massive tracks to this day and all were masters at their craft.

Party Favorz is back with one of our bucket list items that move us from the Ultimate 90s House Classics into the millennium. I took a different approach to this series, which immediately becomes obvious with the title.

First, I started with 1999 because it is possibly one of the best years in dance music history. Many of today's biggest hits have reworked samples that have been turned into massive anthems for a new generation of partygoers. Everything from the late Paul Johnson's "Get Get Down," "Lady (Hear Me Tonight) by Modjo," "9 PM (Til I Come)" by ATB to "Around the World (La La La La La)" by ATC and "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" by Eifel 65 have been plucked from the dance music annals breathing new life into the originals. Heck, even our lady Bey's smash album "Renaissance" is packed with samples from bygone eras.

The other thing you'll notice is that this first set spans 4 years. The millennium was a great time for the evolution of dance music from Progressive House which began in the mid-90s and exploded by the end of the decade, to Trance, Techno, Hard Dance, French House, Filtered House, Funky House, Electro House and music that combined elements of all these genres. Of course, the advancement of technology had a lot to do with the abundance of offerings but it was human ingenuity that pushed the boundaries of what House Music could be.

Needless to say, it's difficult to focus on just the hits because there were so many memorable underground hits as well depending on where you lived and the bars you frequented. If you're looking for the big room progressive sounds by Hex Hector, Victor Calderone, Peter Rauhofer, Thunderpuss, Junior Vasquez, or Jonathan Peters — you're better off revisiting our Top Dance Songs of the Year series, which starts in 1996 but it's 1999 and beyond you're after. Frankly, 1999 needs to be expanded but I haven't gotten around to it. Equally, five out of the six DJs mentioned have their own Legacy series linked in this article. Depending on what decisions are made with the future of Party Favorz next year — I may go back and do a series with just the big room progressive house anthems featuring these DJs and others. That could be a lot of fun. However, for this series — they were not included.

I wasn't sure how this would turn out but this and the upcoming volume 2 have been on repeat in my car for several weeks now as I worked out the final track selections and I'm pleasantly surprised. There is a good deal of House Music styles here with some more Progressive House as it got redefined along with some long-lost gems that ...

The ATL has finally started to cool down while Party Favorz keeps heating up with our annual Fall Edition! I decided not to make everyone wait another week for this drop because I was able to get a couple of major things out of the way earlier in the week.

A lot is going on in this set that features something for everyone. Of course, we've got all the latest circuit hits and pop hits remixed for the circuit, but I'm starting to pull in some mashups for this series and a couple of unexpected 80s throwbacks threw me off track but were so good they had to be included. The Journey x Edson Pride remix of Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) is monumental.

We closed out the set with another one of Joel Dickinson's (a.k.a. Thee Werqn B!tches) deliciously devilish mashups featuring the unlikely casting of Lizzo, 4 Non Blondes, and Barbra Streisand mixed into a delightful confection of hi-energy glitterama.

Jace M & Toy Armada have graced us with an uplifting tribute mix of Everyday by Kim English. This version is their signature style, which suits the track and its positive message.

With the recent passing of Olivia Newton-John, I thought it was fitting to pay tribute to this gay icon. The woman has a treasure trove of music with five #1 hits, a multitude of Top 10 hits, two #1 albums, and she's a 4-time Grammy winner who has sold over 100 million albums worldwide.

Many people aren't aware that her career (much like Taylor Swift) started in country music, then country pop before moving to pop music. Most of you do know that she starred opposite John Travolta in Grease, whose soundtrack is one of the world's biggest-selling albums.

Newton-John battled breast cancer three times and was an advocate for breast cancer research as well as environmental and animal rights. As a gay icon and ally to our community, she appeared in the 1996 drama It's My Party — a movie about AIDS and dying with dignity.

I noticed that there weren't any remixes for Miss Newton-John other than Physical (thank you Leo Blanco) so I dug out the Victor Calderone remix of Hopelessly Devoted To You from the Grease soundtrack, which — despite its age — fits perfectly into this set. Barry Harris had recently reworked Xanadu but I thought that wouldn't quite fit in and only a few of my followers would get it.

I just wanted to pay my respects and give love to this woman who was a big part of my life.

Party Favorz is back and swinging for the fences as we get back to our normal programming schedule the Back 2 School Edition featuring fall's biggest dance club songs. There's a lot to unpack here so let's get started.

We kicked off the set with Beyonce's Break My Soul, which was a little slow out of the gate before people started getting on board. The songwriting credits included the writers for the 90s Robin S classic Show Me Love but to me – there were zero similarities to either song. Both use the standard House music loop featured in most songs back in the day but with little resemblance to that earworm hook courtesy of the StoneBridge remix, which is what made the original a massive hit. Finally, DJ Mike D had the good sense to remix the song with that familiar riff and it works in spades. Still, the best remix of the track that flips and turns it into a big room crowd-pleaser is from our good friends from Houston, Dirty Disco.

In fact, Dirty Disco appears to be the go-to for remixing the biggest songs hitting the charts these days, and for good reason. While they don't have a specific signature (which is one of their finest qualities) — they seem to approach each remix with a different mindset and give it what it needs to turn it into a massive dance floor scorcher. You will hear plenty of examples in this set but the one that really takes the prize is their remix of Calvin Harris' Stay With Me featuring Justin Timberlake, Halsey, and Timberlake. We all know superstar DJ/producer Calvin Harris has a lot of friends in high places but even they couldn't save this song. Enter Dirty Disco from stage left. They massively restructured the original and turned it on its head, which further showcased what the song could be. The remix is so massive and catchy that it got a feature spot in this set when it otherwise wouldn't have.

Another DJ people and labels should be keeping an eye on is DJ Ranny. He's been around a while but has proven himself to be more than just a big-room tribal circuit DJ. His WAP remix by Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B was a masterpiece several years ago. Party Favorz is proud to include his original Rave Bunny, which samples the Alice Deejay classic Better Off Alone and delivers an all-new smoking hot Future House song that should be on every DJ's setlist and on your Spotify playlist.

Back 2 School has not only the latest and biggest songs of the season but several earworms of the summer that have gotten new remixes that we here at Party Favorz can't get enough of. Also, there is a multitude of throwbacks included and I'll let y'all spot them as they come up because many aren't labeled as such.

One such song comes from the leftfield and was totally unexpected. One of our favorite Divas Miss Leann Rimes has dropped a cover of the Alanis Morissette classic Univited on YouTube. We have come to the end of Madonna's birthday month celebration and this last offering is a doozy! So much so, that I had thrown everything including the kitchen sink into this set and decided it was a bit much. Never mind that the set still clocks in at over 5 hours.

The biggest issue was there weren't many great bootlegs for Give Me All Your Luvin' and the one I was using hemmed really close to the Sultan & Shepard mix, which was high octane. In order to make that work, I had to add in the fabulous DJ Barry Harris remixes of Vogue and Deeper and Deeper, which are equally high-octane. They also provided me the ability to mix in the Dirty Disco remix of La Isla Bonita, which had a very tribal element to it that didn't work elsewhere. Everything worked but it all felt out of place in the overall set. I took everything out and moved a couple of tracks around, added the Wayne G remix of Celebration, which allowed me to re-add La Isla Bonita, and presto...MAGIC! For me, it's all about flow and making everything work together in cohesion even when you're changing gears within the mix.

I spent well over 2 weeks pouring through hundreds of bootlegs where 90% are less than stellar with the remaining 10% being good to fantastic. I have no issue with songs that only modernize the original but really like it when someone takes the song and flips it to something entirely different while still retaining the core essence of the original. A good example of this is the Parralox remix of Borderline. The remix still keeps it in the 80s era but moves it away from the pop sound of the original into a New Wave vibe that just works. Another is the Luxar remix of Justify My Love, which takes the dark sleazy Trip Hop version and turns it into something closer to what Nine Inch Nails would have done with the song dropping it into the middle of an S&M club. The grinding synth just gives it that extra sleaze the original is missing. There are many other examples included here.

I realize favoriting versions over others is subjective so it's entirely possible I may have missed your favorite version of a track. But, there is so much stuff y'all are already familiar with from past releases and a bevy of brand new remixes that recently came out and took over past favorites — I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised at just how good the final product came out.

I also want to mention that there are some notable mashups like the DJ Bill Bennett Erotica vs. Cafe Del Mar, which still holds up to this day. Though, I slowed the track down to 122 BPM from 126 BPM, which made more sense. Perhaps the first mashup, which is the most notorious of them all was the White Label Stardust vs. Madonna on Music Sounds Better On Holiday (other titles were listed as Holiday Sounds Better With You), which was released in 1998. At the time, there were several mashups with the French House classic including by Lisa Stansfield and Bette Midler but by far, the Madonna version was the most famous and likely the most famous mashup of all time. The quality was always shit from these vinyl rips and it's been added as a bonus track at the end of this set because the style and quality don't allow it to fit anywhere within this mix.
