Hank Parker is a professional bass fisherman. In 1979 and 1989, Parker won the Bassmaster Classic, making him one of only four anglers to win the event more than once. 

Additionally, Parker was the first angler to win the Grand Slam of competitive bass fishing after winning the Classic, B.A.S.S Angler of the Year, and the B.A.S.S SuperBass Tournament. 

Parker was inducted into the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame in 2003, and the Legends of the Outdoors Hall of Fame in 2006. 

Along with his fishing career, Parker also hosts Hank Parker’s Outdoor Magazine on Pursuit Channel.

He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Ph.D in Counseling Education, and has worked in his home state of South Carolina, in Utah, and in Colorado.

Dr. OShields grew up in a Union, SC mill village in the 1950s, and these experiences provided him with a personal interest in documenting stories of the disappearing southern mill village culture.
