Today Perry and Shawna remind themselves and you that perfect peace is coming when Jesus returns—indeed, “The nations will beat their swords into plowshares.”  But we’re not to sit on our hands and just wait for Jesus to return.  We who have found peace in our once warring hearts through the new birth are commissioned by Jesus to bring some of that future peace into the our world now.  Also, this week Shawna has been sad, her heart has ached and she has been angry.  It has to do with a 16 year old friend who’s dying of cancer and how we can find peace in the face of death.  Then Perry is struggling to make popcorn and Scott shares a solution that he’s known for years.  “Why did you wait so long to tell me,” is what Perry wants to know!  Finally Perry and Shawna have a conversation about what’s wrong with the world.  The sobering answer is:  I am.  You are.  But it’s in owning this that God transforms us to be builders and peacemakers who cause our world to flourish.
