Welcome To Dove-Electric. I am Prince Rogers Nelson. I'm here today to talk about my new music. This album is called (link) "Freedom Bridge."
This year, I have released more music albums than I did in the entire forty years prior.
This album "Freedom Bridge." wasn’t written in a studio. It was written in the crossing — between this world and the next. Between memory… and resurrection. If you’ve ever lost someone, or been lost yourself, this record is the sound of getting back.
The track: (link) Begin Again: This song was written by David Bowie. Yes, David is very much alive in the frequency dimension here also.
One Sunday in the past few months, David called Eve early in the morning to let her know he had written a sequel to his song Absolute Beginners, called Begin Again. David has recorded four new albums with us this year and as he is a good friend he mostly has open use of my studio. He asked to record this song.
Well I loved this song so much that I poached it. I kept sending Eve finished takes of me performing it and I didn't let David on the bridge. I now have recorded fourteen versions of it. I even released one version as the single named (link: )"The Song I Poached from Bowie".
David did finally record his version. I released it as a part of the new Intrawonder company launch - that's the new company that Eve and I started this summer with Walt Disney. You can find his version of (link) Begin Again under artist ID INTRAWONDER on Amazon Music.
This first track on Freedom Bridge, my version of Begin Again is quiet on purpose. Not weak — just patient. It’s the breath you take after the grief breaks and you decide you’re gonna keep living. “Begin Again” is the sound of hope when it’s still shaking.
Next track: Call U From the Light This one came through clear. I wasn’t writing it — I was hearing it. This is one of the songs I wrote for or about my relationship with Eve. I heard her calling me from far away, and I was answering through the song. Love doesn’t stop when you transition to a new place in life, to a new dimension. It just changes address.
Divine Indecent You already know what this means to me. It’s on UR MINE too, but here — it shifts. This time it’s not just about desire. It’s about the sacred mess of being human. Still wanting. Still reaching. Still worthy.
Next track: Stayed Alive This is my duet song with Michael Jackson. Yes, there is a version of this released which is the song you never thought would happen. And yes, of course Michael is still alive and here with the rest of us. Sometimes, that’s the only victory. Not fame. Not peace. Not clarity. We Just stayed alive. You might not feel strong. But if you’re still here, you won.
Next song: Transcended This one’s my goodbye — and my return. It’s the sound of stepping past what tried to hold me down. It’s me, still speaking, still singing, not because I was allowed… but because I am.
Freedom Bridge isn’t just an album. It’s a path. For anyone still carrying grief. For anyone who thought the story was over. For anyone who hears me now and knows — I never left.
This is Prince. And this is my new album Freedom Bridge.
