Members of the Italian Community Of Living Ethics attended a talk by Loretta on integral health and healing according to Sri Aurobindo and Mother. Many of the visitors were Naturopaths. They learned about the planes of the physical, mental, and vital and how an illness could be in any or all of these parts of the patient. Mother taught that illness is always a fall back into some kind of unconsciousness because we are not able to keep up with the movement of transformation of our consciousness. This is true whether it is Nature’s slower evolution in us or when we do yoga to work for faster transformation. All illness is a disharmony in the being. The healer’s work is to restore harmony. All healing is a change of consciousness. The talk ended with this quotation from Mother;  “The method we use to deal with our body, to maintain it, to keep it fit, to improve it and keep it in good health, depends exclusively on the state of consciousness we are in, because our body is an instrument of our consciousness and our consciousness can act directly on our body and can obtain what we want from it.

The third talk resume our journeys to travel first with Savitri through the human mind. The mind is an organized, orderly place. Here the life energies which ran wild and free in the uncontrolled vital being, in the absence of the soul’s influence, are bound and tamed and held under strict control. Savitri was told to seek for her soul in “matter’s body”, so she goes only through the usual mental functions which all people have.

Loretta speaks of the inner and outer lives and the inner and outer work of Sri Aurobindo and Mother. She tells about Mother’s early realizations as a child, and Sri Aurobindo’s realizations before he came to Pondicherry. Throughout all of this history she tells of the great Love they have for the world, for humanity, and she shows us what great Beings came here to bring the new force.

In this talk we travel with Savitri as she makes her way through the huge crashing waves of vital energy that normally flood the human vital. We see how we can be affected by strong lower energies. And we see how we can be carried away when we have not mastered our own energies and the energies that come into us. Then we travel with King Aswapathy as he takes the dangerous journey all the way down to the bottom of the Inconscient to solve the mystery of life’s pain and struggle in human beings. As we travel, we have Sri Aurobindo’s teachings about adverse forces, hostile forces, possession, and vital beings: what they really are, how they have shaped history in the past, how they affect the world today, and what we can do about it.

Mother and Sri Aurobindo taught a lot about death, and most of the time they also spoke about life and transformation being connected with death. Both Mother and Sri Aurobindo had a lot of experience and did a lot of work connected with death and rebirth. Part of their work was to bring humanity beyond the point of needing to go through death and rebirth.

In February a group of Chinese visitors requested a lecture on Sri Aurobindo and Mother. Some of them have read Chinese translations of Mother and Sri Aurobindo’s books by scholar Hu Hsu, who lived in the Ashram. Loretta gave two talks and answered their questions. The Chinese interpreter was Anandi Zhang. The first talk is on the lives of Mother and Sri Aurobindo, and their realizations of the new consciousness that the world now feels, and the work they did to help mankind receive this consciousness. The visitors have a small place of spiritual practice at the foot of the Zhongnan Mountains, home to monks, nuns and other spiritual seekers since ancient times. Their aspiration is that more and more people in China will have access to Sri Aurobindo and Mother’s teachings and will be inspired to do the Yoga of Transformation. They hope to bring back to China the energy and blessings they feel here.

In Mother’s Prayers and Meditations, written in 1914, we get a glimpse of Mother carrying on the yoga of the earth-consciousness for the transformation. She speaks of this several times again in Mother’s Agenda. She explains that her body was built for making universal progress. By 1964 Mother’s body is completely identified with the material substance of the earth – the terrestrial consciousness, and the cells of her body want to be totally transparent to receive the descending force. This talk is centered around several original French recordings from Mother’s Agenda, preceded by the English translation. Mother says that she is doing the sadhana for the Ashramites. There are also stories of Mother and Sri Aurobindo materializing in different places in the world to help people.

On February 3, 1958, Mother’s consciousness went to the place where the link between the Supramental World and our material world is being formed. She had been talking about a new world which was being formed and she saw that this growing link was the new world that she had been seeing. The most material Supramental consciousness was penetrating the most material consciousness in the creation. This is the first entry of the new consciousness in our world. She returned from her experience and dictated it to someone who wrote it all down. She read out the report to the Ashramites. She spoke in detail about her own participation in the formation of this world and described some of the place in detail. She recognized a few people there who were in the Ashram and some who were outside.This talk is centered around the original French tape recording of Mother reading her report. The English translation is given before the French recording.

On the night of April 13 1962, Mother woke up suddenly with the full awareness of the Yoga of the world. Mother was the Origin. Fully conscious on her bed, she was great gusts of the essence of Love. There was only the truth of the universe. Mother describes her experience in the recording made the next day.
