Starting after midnight on January 1, 1969, Mother felt a new consciousness come into her body – a luminous, benevolent, joyous personality. It was the personality which would manifest in the superman, the intermediary between man and the supramental being, and which would persist through the evolution into the supramental being. Mother received important lessons from this new being in the progression of her work for transformation. This talk is centered around Mother’s Agenda entries about many of Mother’s experiences with the new being preceded by the English translation. Among Mother’s experiences given here, she speaks of looking down and seeing her new body for the first time.
On January 20, 2011, started a series of five talks on some of the Mother’s major experiences in Her work of transformation. Loretta wants to simplify things for people who are on the journey of Sri Aurobindo’s Yoga. Along with her explanations, she brings Mother’s Presence by translating and playing recordings of Mother telling of these experiences, and telling stories about Ashram life when Mother was here.Loretta was asked if she thought Mother finished Her work before She left the body. As part of her answer, Loretta relates her own experience standing alone in the Ashram Meditation Room with Mother’s body in the early morning.
The Transition School teachers chose “Peace” as the special value this year. Loretta was invited to speak to four different classes of 9-10 year old children on Mother and Peace. She brought photographs of Mother with the Ashram school children and read a text of Mother teaching on how to find peace. This talk brings stories of Mother and the Ashram children and Auroville in the early days. Mother’s teaching on Peace is useful for people of every age.
Aurovilian Loretta speaks of the openness and reception of the people and the spiritual force at two International workshops in October, one in Italy, sponsored by the Community of Living Ethics, and one in Canada, sponsored by The Mother’s Circle study group. Fiorenza Bortolotti, A community leader in the Italian community, gives the history of her community. Their teachings about the new force and the new age, and the yoga related to its coming are similar to Sri Aurobindo’s. Called Psychosynthesis, these teachings and methods were created by psychologist Roberto Assagioli, a contemporary of Sri Aurobindo. He based it all on teachings from the East, including Sri Aurobindo’s teachings and the transmissions received by Helena Roerich, wife of the Russian painter, Nicholas Roerich, and combined it with his knowledge of psychology and medicine. Auroville and the Community of Living Ethics have many spiritual things in common.
Loretta speaks about the deep, mystic relationship that Sri Aurobindo and Mother have as the Purusha, the Supreme, divine unmanifest, and the Prakriti, his power of creation and manifestation who is the whole creation. She gives things from Savitri which show us that this relationship is an Eternal love affair. She tells about the coming of the Supramental Force and Mother’s experience in bringing it, and some of its results in Mother’s life. She also tells about some prophesies of the coming of the force and also one prophecy about the coming of Auroville.
Sri Aurobindo advanced very quickly on the path of Yoga as soon as he started. Nirvana and Cosmic Consciousness take many years to achieve. He attained Nirvana after only three days of Yoga practice. After that, it took just four months for Cosmic Consciousness to begin to emerge in him, and a year later he realised it in full. In this tribute we have Sri Aurobindo’s own words describing his experiences and realisations.
The first major step in the practice of Sri Aurobindo’s Yoga is to realize our individual soul. Sri Aurobindo said he used his writing of Savitri as an exercise of putting consciousness in writing. As he was doing his own yoga he changed what he had written according to the new level of consciousness he achieved. He described two journeys from the outermost part of a human being through all the planes of consciousness from the most gross to the most subtle, the soul. Savitri makes the journey to her own soul in her heart chakra at the center of her subtle being. This is her yoga to realize her soul. Savitri’s father, King Aswapathy, is already a soul-realized person. He makes the same journey for a different reason. He travels consciously and simultaneously through the planes of his own being and through the universal planes of being to the World Soul, in the heart of the world at the Centre of Creation. First we travel with Savitri through one part of our subtle being, and then we journey through the same part with the King. Sri Aurobindo wrote each journey as a different teaching and a different experience. He wrote his own yoga history in the journey of the King, and Savitri’s journey is the Mother’s journey. Today we enter the inner worlds from the outside and begin a wonderful journey with two most remarkable people; Savitri and King Aswapathy.
