  • Wedgemount Resources updates field activities at Huggy Assets, reactivates five wells
Wedgemount Resources CEO Mark Vanry joined Steve Darling from Proactive to provide an update to Proactive on the company's field activities at its recently acquired Huggy Assets. After weather-related delays, Wedgemount has full operations going, including pumping, surface facility optimization, maintenance, chemical treatments, and well workovers.
The company's primary focus remains on the Echo and Novice operational areas, where five additional wells have been brought back online. These wells had been inactive for a significant period before Wedgemount's acquisition. Historical initial production (IP) rates for these wells ranged from 15 to 65 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd).
Vanry noted that previous successful chemical stimulations on Wedgemount’s Willowbend leases resulted in improved well performance. The company expects similar or better results from workovers and chemical treatments at Huggy, potentially exceeding the original IP rates.
Looking ahead, Wedgemount has over 100 additional wells that have yet to undergo chemical stimulation, presenting significant production upside over the next two years.

  • Blockmate Ventures: Hivello’s AI expansion with Nosana
Blockmate Ventures Inc (TSX-V:MATE, OTCQB:MATEF) chairman Domenic Carosa talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about Hivello’s latest integration with the Nosana network. Carosa explained that Hivello allows users to rent out their computer resources, similar to how AirBnB operates for homes. This model enables users to generate passive income while contributing to a decentralized blockchain network.
The integration with Nosana enhances this model by tapping into AI demand. “Nosana is one of the leading GPU DePINs… they basically power AI,” Carosa said. He highlighted that Hivello’s users are now actively contributing to training AI models and earning from it.
Carosa also discussed the recent token generation event (TGE), comparing it to an IPO in the crypto space. As of the interview, Hivello’s token had a fully diluted value of over $20 million, providing significant value to Blockmate Ventures, which owns approximately 50% of Hivello.
Looking ahead, Blockmate Ventures is focused on expanding its DePIN integrations and increasing customer adoption. Carosa emphasized that the company is doubling down on AI and blockchain opportunities in 2025.

  • Graphene Manufacturing Group advances aluminium-ion battery development with key U.S. partnership
Graphene Manufacturing Group CEO Craig Nicol joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share an update as the company continues to make strides in the development of its Graphene Aluminium-Ion Battery technology, a cutting-edge innovation being pursued in collaboration with the University of Queensland and Rio Tinto under a Joint Development Agreement.
Nicol told Proactive, to accelerate battery development, GMG has signed a service contract with the Battery Innovation Center (BIC) in Indiana, USA. This partnership will support the next phase of research and optimization, leveraging BIC’s state-of-the-art 40,000-square-foot facility in Newberry, Indiana. As a globally recognized innovation hub, BIC specializes in advancing battery technologies, offering end-to-end support from research and development to prototype manufacturing and low-volume production—a critical advantage for GMG as it scales up its graphene-based energy storage solutions.
Nicol emphasized that collaborating with BIC allows GMG to access advanced battery manufacturing infrastructure without incurring the high capital costs of building its own pilot production facility—an investment that could exceed AU$10 million. Through this agreement, GMG will retain full intellectual property (IP) rights over the battery development work, ensuring control over its proprietary technology while optimizing BIC’s cell design expertise and battery manufacturing capabilities.
By integrating BIC’s expertise into its scale-up strategy, GMG can streamline the production of sample battery cells before committing to mass production, reducing risks and deferring large capital expenditures until the technology reaches a higher level of readiness. Looking ahead, GMG aims to optimize battery performance, produce initial test cells this year, and engage customers for validation. Nicol noted strong interest from major companies eager to integrate this technology.

  • Clinical study SKNJCT-003 shows positive trends as company advances skin cancer research in UAE
Medicus Pharma CEO Dr. Raza Bokhari joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share updates on the ongoing SKNJCT-003 clinical study, which is being conducted at nine sites across the United States and aims to randomize 60 patients. An interim analysis conducted after enrolling more than half of the targeted participants has shown encouraging results. The study reports a clinical clearance rate exceeding 60%, with the investigational therapy demonstrating strong tolerability across both tested dosage levels. Notably, no dose-limiting toxicities (DLTs) or serious adverse events (SAEs) have been observed, and there have been no systemic effects or clinically significant abnormalities in laboratory results, ECGs, vital signs, or physical exams. These promising findings will be submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as part of a Type C meeting request in Q2 2025.
In parallel, the company is advancing its clinical initiatives for non-invasive basal cell carcinoma treatment with a newly proposed study. This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multi-center trial has been submitted for approval to the UAE Department of Health. The study aims to enroll up to 36 patients at prominent medical institutions, including Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Shakbout Medical City, Burjeel Medical City, and the American Hospital of Dubai. Participants will be assigned in a 1:1:1 ratio to receive either a placebo or one of two dosage levels of the experimental treatment.
This expansion into the UAE represents a significant step forward in the company’s mission to develop innovative, non-invasive therapies for skin cancer, broadening its global clinical footprint and reinforcing its commitment to advancing patient care.

  • Immunic presents at ACTRIMS forum as it awaits key CALLIPER MS trial data
Immunic Therapeutics chief medical officer Dr Andreas Muehler talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company's strong presence at the 10th annual ACTRIMS Forum, where it presented two key posters on multiple sclerosis (MS). He highlighted that Immunic’s investigational drug, vidofludimus calcium, has potential neuroprotective properties that may benefit both relapsing and progressive MS patients.
One of the posters examined baseline characteristics of past progressive MS trials and contrasted them with Immunic’s CALLIPER trial, designed for non-relapsing patients with minimal inflammatory activity. The second poster explored preclinical data on the drug’s mechanism of action, emphasizing its potential to target activated microglia and support neuron survival.
Muehler noted significant engagement from the MS community at ACTRIMS, with many keenly anticipating the CALLIPER trial’s readout in April. “It’s really one of the very few late-stage drugs with a potential neuroprotective effect,” he said, adding that the data could provide new hope for progressive MS patients who currently have limited treatment options.
