  • AuMEGA identifies significant geological structures at Bunker Hill in Canada
AuMEGA Metals Ltd (ASX: AAM, TSXV: AUM, OTCQB: AUMMF) managing director and CEO Sam Pazuki joins Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss preliminary results the company has received from a high-resolution airborne magnetic and Very Low Frequency Electromagnetic (VLF-EM) survey over its Bunker Hill Project in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
The survey covered 170 square kilometres, comprising 3,142 line-kilometres, and revealed significant geological complexity across the 25-kilometre strike length of Bunker Hill.
The findings have altered the company’s understanding of the area, highlighting important geological structures that align with previous geochemical and prospecting samples, which showed high-grade copper, gold, and silver.
    Key results include:
    Identification of major second and third order faults;
High-grade copper samples of up to 25% (outcrop) and 57% (float); and
Significant silver (up to 407.5g/t) and gold (up to 17g/t) in samples.
These findings suggest that Bunker Hill shares structural similarities with Calibre Mining's Valentine Project, which hosts a large gold resource. Further structural analysis and final data processing are expected before the end of 2024. The company is also awaiting assay results from its summer till survey and diamond drilling programs.

  • Cyclone Metals produces “World-Class” Iron Bear DR pellets in pilot run
Cyclone Metals Ltd (ASX:CLE) CEO Paul Berend Joins Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss how the company has successfully completed a pilot production run of direct reduction (DR) iron ore pellets at its Iron Bear Project in Canada.
These pellets achieved “world-class” specifications, grading 67.5% iron, 1.6% silica, 0.12% magnesium oxide and 0.65% calcium oxide, with ultra-low deleterious elements.
The pellets demonstrated excellent physical and metallisation properties, including a cold crushing strength (CCS) of 438-486 kilograms per pellet and a 99.1% metallisation rate.
Berend noted that these DR pellets, which enable low-carbon steel production, are a significant milestone for the project.
DR pellets are crucial in green steel production, reducing carbon inputs by minimising the need for coking coal and enabling the use of electric furnaces. The company expects to start shipping bulk samples to potential offtake clients by Q2 2025.
With the completion of pilot work, the company will now move towards small-scale industrial production.
Cyclone plans to produce high-grade DR concentrate and pellets, targeting potential markets in the Middle East and Europe. The company aims to secure a joint venture with a Tier-1 miner or steel producer to advance the project.

  • Suvo Strategic Minerals transforms nickel slag into low carbon cement
Suvo Strategic Minerals Ltd (ASX:SUV) executive chair Aaron Banks joins Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss the company’s successful transformation of zero-carbon nickel slag into high-strength, low-carbon cement.
Suvo’s tested three samples at Indonesia's Makassar State University (UNM), yielding impressive results, with one sample achieving 37.5 megapascals (Mpa) of strength after only seven days.
This comes after Suvo signed a cooperation agreement with PT Huadi Bantaeng Industrial Park (PT HBIP) in Indonesia, potentially leading to a commercial arrangement.
The agreement involved Suvo's subsidiary, Climate Tech Cement Pty Ltd, incorporating industrial slag by-product from PT Huadi Nickel-Alloy Indonesia (PT HNI), a nickel pig iron operation, into its geopolymer mix-design. The aim is to produce an eco-friendly geopolymer cement as an alternative to traditional clinker-based cement.
Cement production is responsible for around 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions, emitting around 3.2 billion tonnes of CO2 annually.
Suvo's innovation in turning nickel slag into a low-carbon cement alternative offers significant potential in reducing the cement industry's carbon footprint.
Banks highlighted the success of the initial trials and outlined the company’s goal of producing an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional Portland cement.
The nickel slag, supplied by PT Huadi Nickel-Alloy Indonesia (PT HNI), one of Indonesia’s largest nickel producers, has a zero-carbon footprint. This circular economy solution reduces waste from nickel production and lowers emissions in the cement industry.
Suvo now plans further testing in collaboration with UNM, evaluating other properties of the cement, including slump and setting times. The results will be shared with PT HNI, with potential discussions for a partnership and commercialisation of this low-carbon cement product.

Alkane Resources Ltd (ASX:ALK) managing director Nic Earner sits down with Proactive’s Tylah Tully to run through the company’s latest quarterly update.
At its Tomingley Gold Operations in Central West NSW, gold production for the quarter reached 18,418 ounces, in line with the forecast. Site operating cash costs were A$2,000/ounce and the All-In Sustaining Cost (AISC) was A$2,200/ounce.
The site generated A$19.2 million in operating cash flow and gold sales totalled 19,000 ounces, generating A$65 million in revenue at an average price of A$3,400/ounce.
The full-year FY2025 production guidance remains unchanged at 70,000 to 80,000 ounces of gold, with an AISC between A$2,400 and A$2,600/ounce. The higher AISC is attributed to increased decline development costs.
At its Tomingley Gold Extension Project construction on the paste plant and the process plant’s flotation and fine grinding circuit is on schedule for commissioning in Q4 2024.
Mineral resources and ore reserves for Tomingley were re-estimated, resulting in an 11% net increase in reserve ounces. Total mineral resources are estimated at 24.27 million tonnes grading 2.12 g/t gold for 1.656 million ounces with ore reserves at 11.76 million tonnes at 1.9 g/t for 705,000 ounces.
Early-stage exploration at the Rockley Project, 35 kilometres south of Bathurst, identified base metal alteration and generated new prospective targets.
Exploration activities around Boda-Kaiser focused on re-assaying and passive seismic surveys and the drilling of bores for groundwater monitoring.
Cash, bullion and listed investments totalled A$50 million at the end of the quarter, with an additional A$15 million available from the undrawn portion of the A$60 million project finance facility.
Significant investments of A$30 million were made in Tomingley’s expansion projects, nearing completion by the end of the year.

  • Just the Facts: Kinetiko Energy progresses gas projects to support South Africa’s clean energy shift
Proactive’s Tylah Tully breaks down 'Just the Facts' of the latest news from Kinetiko Energy Ltd (ASX:KKO, OTC:KKOEF).
Kinetiko is advancing its shallow conventional gas projects in South Africa, focusing on reducing the country’s reliance on coal and imported energy.
The company's flagship Mpumalanga Project is set to deliver significant gas volumes to support South Africa’s energy transition to cleaner and more reliable sources.
Over the past year, Kinetiko has successfully completed drilling and coring campaigns in blocks ER272 and ER270, consistently striking gas.
This has resulted in a 2C contingent gas resource of 6 TCF and a maiden 2P gas reserve of 6.4 BCF, representing only a small portion of the company's overall acreage.
The upcoming five-well production test program, scheduled for Q4 next year, will provide crucial data to refine production models and secure stable gas flow rates for commercial production.
Kinetiko also demonstrated the commercial viability of its gas production through a partnership with FFS Refiners, using a 1.2 MW gas generator.
The company plans to develop an LNG facility from this field, with a target to deliver its first LNG production cluster within 18 months.
