  • Maximus Resources reports strong gold results at Wattle Dam in phase 2 drilling
Maximus Resources Ltd (ASX:MXR, OTC:MXRRF) managing director Tim Wither joins Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss the positive results from Phase 2 drilling at Wattle Gold Dam, near Kambalda, Western Australia.
The drilling confirmed elevated gold, with samples showing up to 1-metre at 8.05 g/t of gold. The site is positioned along the Spargoville shear zone, where a potential structural offset of the high-grade Wattle Dam Gold Mine has been identified. The discovery of biotite-amphibole alterations within the rock indicates promising gold prospectivity, as biotite has historically been a marker for high-grade mineralisation at Wattle Dam.
Wither noted that the Phase 2 results build confidence in the geological model and enhance future exploration prospects. However, the coarse nature of the gold presents challenges, with high variability in grade estimates. To address this, the company increased assay sample sizes to better represent gold content, a key step for future drill programs. Initial assays suggest coarse gold is likely present, similar to historical mining conditions at the site.
Maximus will continue refining drilling targets for a Phase 3 program at Wattle Dam, scheduled for the fourth quarter, and aims to advance gold production in parallel with further exploration.

  • CuFe Ltd wraps up maiden drilling program at North Dam Project
Pantoro Limited (ASX:PNR) managing director Paul Cmrlec joins Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss its drilling program at the Butterfly area of the Southern Mainfield within its 100%-owned Norseman Gold Project in Western Australia.
Pantoro’s now underway 35,000-metre surface drilling program, a combination of reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling, is part of its larger 85,000-metre growth initiative announced in June.
This includes targets at the Mainfield and expansion at the Scotia mine. Underground development at Scotia began in May, with drill platforms prepared for upcoming exploration.
Plans to re-enter the Bullen decline are progressing, with ground support work expected in the December 2024 quarter and drilling from underground platforms anticipated by June next year.
Pantoro aims to develop at least two additional underground mines within the next two years, potentially replacing lower-grade open pit material with higher-grade underground resources. This is intended to increase annual gold production from around 100,000 ounces to a targeted 200,000 ounces. The Norseman processing plant continues to operate at a rate of 1.2 million tonnes per year, with no significant upgrades needed to accommodate anticipated higher feed grades.

  • OzAurum signs Mulgabbie North heap leach 50:50 profit share agreement
OzAurum Resources Ltd (ASX: OZM) Managing Director and CEO Andrew Pumphrey joins Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss the agreement it has signed with Line Hydrogen Pty Ltd and BIM Metals Pty Ltd to complete the Mulgabbie North Heap Leach Feasibility Study, which will be fully funded by both companies.
The study, expected to take 12 months, may lead to mining operations if deemed economically viable. LHBM will fund and operate the project, with net profits split equally between OzAurum and LHBM.
Brendan James, a hydrometallurgical engineer with over 25 years of heap leach experience, will lead the project, adding expertise and reducing risk. The agreement includes a $4 million break fee, should either party withdraw, with exceptions for technical or permitting issues.
The project aims to produce Net Zero gold as part of Line Hydrogen’s strategy to replace diesel fuel in Australia. The Mulgabbie North resource is estimated at 260,000 ounces of gold, with 64% in the measured and indicated categories. The project benefits from its proximity to Kalgoorlie's mining hub and identified new gold targets for further drilling. The heap leach process will focus on oxide and transition ores, with expected high recovery rates.

  • Mosman Oil and Gas Secures £1.5 Million to Advance Helium Projects with Key Acquisition
Mosman Oil and Gas CEO Andy Carroll joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce the company’s successful capital raise of £1.5 million through a placement and subscription of ordinary shares. This influx of funds will enable the company to further pursue and develop helium projects, enhancing its portfolio in this growing sector.
Carroll highlighted the company’s recent strategic acquisition of a 20% working interest in the Vecta Helium Project located in Colorado as part of its clear strategy to capitalize on the helium market. He emphasized that the raised capital would be instrumental in advancing these initiatives.
Additionally, Carroll provided an update on EP(A) 155, a project where Mosman holds 100% interest. He shared that the approval process is progressing well, with a meeting with the Central Land Council having taken place earlier this month. Depending on Georgina’s farm-in conditions, Mosman’s interest in the project could reduce to 25% or even 10% if they opt to be carried through the drilling phase.

  • Europa Oil & Gas Receives Approval for Wressle Well Expansion, Plans for Increased Gas Production
Europa Oil & Gas CEO Will Holland joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share news the company has received planning consent from North Lincolnshire Council for further development of the Wressle well site. The plans include extending the site to drill two new wells and constructing gas processing facilities and an underground gas pipeline to connect Wressle to the local distribution network.
Holland emphasized the importance of the Wressle field, located in onshore licences PEDL180 and PEDL182 in North Lincolnshire. The development will boost oil production and monetize associated gas from the field, leading to zero routine flaring at the site. Holland also highlighted that while domestic oil production meets less than 50% of UK demand, Wressle’s contribution provides both economic and environmental advantages over importing energy.

  • i3 Energy’s sales process: Gran Tierra offer explained by CEO Majid Shafiq
i3 Energy PLC chief executive Majid Shafiq takes Proactive's Stephen Gunnion through company's sales process, Gran Tierra's offer, and the potential for future growth. In the interview, Shafiq explains that i3 Energy received unsolicited approaches in Q1 2024. After considering its standalone options, which required substantial capital investment, the company decided it was in shareholders' best interests to pursue a transaction.
Shafiq outlined the process, which began with appointing financial advisors and opening a data room for interested parties to conduct due diligence. Gran Tierra emerged as the preferred bidder after increasing its offer multiple times. "Gran Tierra’s financial resources are expected to be deployed to accelerate the development of i3’s Canadian assets," Shafiq noted.
Shafiq also addressed the strategic rationale, highlighting that the deal would create a larger oil-weighted E&P company with a strong asset portfolio. He emphasised that the transaction would accelerate shareholder value, noting that it represented a 49% premium to the closing price before the offer. With major shareholders already in support, Shafiq expressed confidence that the deal would close by Q4 2024.

This agreement has been approved by the US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and aligns with the DOE's Critical Materials Innovation (CMI) Hub. The collaboration will focus on developing new extraction methods for the McDermitt Lithium Project, which is the largest lithium resource in the United States, containing 21.5 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent.
Research led by the Critical Materials Institute, in partnership with several universities and laboratories, will aim to reduce costs, optimise sustainability, and minimise environmental impact. Jindalee will contribute technical expertise and sample materials, while the DOE will fund the research. The project's primary goals include lowering water usage, reducing acid consumption and minimising tailings.
Senator Ron Wyden supports the initiative, emphasising the importance of sustainable mining for a clean energy future. The project is expected to conclude within two years, with quarterly reports and a final summary.
The CRADA represents a significant step for Jindalee’s McDermitt Project, further enhancing its strategic importance to US energy independence.
