  • Doubleview Gold Corp latest results show extension of Lisle Zone 240 metres
Doubleview Gold Corp CEO Farshad Shirvani joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share results from drilling at the Hat porphyry project in northwestern British Columbia, Canada, during an interview with Steve Darling from Proactive.
The drill results have revealed significant extensions of the Lisle deposit, particularly in the South Lisle Zone. The company's drilling efforts have resulted in the discovery of their highest gold grades to date. Notably, a drill interval of 405 meters returned a gold grade of 0.21 g/t.
Shirvani emphasized that these results are highly significant, as they will increase the volume of mineralization included in the maiden resource estimate for the project. This estimate is currently being prepared by an independent engineering group and is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2024.
Furthermore, the extension of the South Lisle Zone has expanded the Main Lisle Zone by an additional 360 meters, further enhancing the project's overall potential.
Doubleview Gold Corp is eagerly awaiting further drill results as it continues its exploration efforts in the Golden Triangle region of British Columbia. These positive findings suggest a promising future for the Hat porphyry project and the company's endeavors in the region.
Stay tuned for more updates on Doubleview Gold Corp's ongoing exploration activities and project developments.

  • FTSE 100 down, Ocado up after festive period - Market Report
Good morning from London where the FTSE 100 is down in early trading, and its Rightmove that’s the biggest loser so far.
The UK’s favourite property website is down around 5%, hit by a downgrade from JPMorgan. The investment bank has downgraded Rightmove to ‘underperform’ from ‘neutral’ on the grounds that its costs for maintaining best in class user experience are on the rise.
Also rising today is Ocado’s share price, it’s a typically volatile one and today is no exception. Ocado is up around 5% after its retail joint venture with Marks & Spencer, Ocado Retail, reported record Christmas trading.
Looking ahead, the firm said it has confidence that the business will continue its encouraging momentum over the coming year, growing sales volumes ahead of the market.
Card Factory (LSE:CARD) also had a good Christmas from the look of it, though you wouldn’t know it from looking at their share price. They’re saying this morning that profits this year will be at the top of market forecasts. Chief Executive Darcy Willson-Rymer said that “Even during challenging times, consumers want to celebrate key life moments and this was reflected in the positive performance that we saw in the Christmas trading period”
If that’s not enough to warm the cockles of your heart on a freezing winter morning then perhaps my interview later today with the CEO of UK infrastructure company Galliford Try will do the trick. Stay tuned for that and much else besides, have a great day.

  • Iofina outlook for 2024 "looks very good"
Iofina PLC (AIM:IOF, OTC:IOFNF) CEO Dr Tom Becker speaks to Thomas Warner from Proactive after the iodine producer released a Q4 2023 Corporate Update showing another year-on-year increase in iodine production of around 560 metric tonnes.
Becker attributes the growth to the consistent performance of their plants and the introduction of IO#9 in the latter half of 2023. Although IO9 faced initial challenges, it eventually aligned with the company's production expectations.
Becker discusses mixed results in iodine derivatives, noting that while some performed well, others lagged. He says Iofina adapted by redirecting certain iodine scheduled for derivatives to the market as crystalline iodine. The company is exploring new iodine-based derivatives to enhance their product line.
Looking ahead, Iofina is focusing on expanding its iodine production. The imminent construction of IO#10 underscores the company's commitment to growth. Becker highlights the strategic hires and plans to control costs and improve timelines for IO#10, aiming for a stronger initial performance than IO#9.
Becker goes on to discuss plans for 2024, describing the outlook as very good and saying that he remains focused on executing the company's strategy. The company intends to launch a new derivative for the Indian market in 2024. Becker remains optimistic about the company's future, noting stability in iodine prices and a favourable market outlook.

  • Oil prices up ahead of "big week for the UK economy" - OptionsDesk
OptionsDesk broker Sebastian Blanco speaks to Thomas Warner from Proactive ahead of what he calls a "big week for the UK economy."
Several key economic insights were highlighted, including a notable increase in Brent crude prices, driven by tensions involving US and UK ships in the Red Sea. Blanco details how tensions led to Brent crude rising $5 last week, surpassing $80/bl. He says the impact of this escalation is profound, with shipping costs from China to Northern Europe soaring from $1,500 in November to over $4,000 currently, potentially affecting the broader economy.
Additionally, the interview touched on Taiwan's political landscape following the Democratic Progressive Party's victory for a third consecutive term. Despite the incumbent president losing the parliamentary majority, Beijing's response remained muted. This political shift could influence future legislation and overall cross-strait relations.
The conversation also turned to the UK's economic situation, particularly focusing on the upcoming Consumer Price Index (CPI) data. Blanco emphasises the importance of this data, with forecasts indicating a slight decrease to 3.8% from last month's 3.9%. Any deviation from this forecast could reinforce the 'higher for longer' narrative regarding inflation. This data, along with the UK's jobless claims and retail earnings, are crucial indicators of the country's economic health.

  • Europa Oil & Gas CEO outlines priorities for 2024 after Wressle production update
Europa Oil & Gas (Holdings) PLC (AIM:EOG) chief executive William Holland speaks to Thomas Warner from Proactive after the exploration and production company published an update on production at its 30% owned Wressle oilfield and its cash position.
Holland discusses Europa's production at the Wressle field, noting that while it is meeting expectations at around 650 bpd, careful reservoir management is essential to maximize output and avoid excessive water production. He goes on to say that the company's 2023 cash flow fell short of forecasts, primarily due to delays in drilling the Penistone well and shutting down Wressle 1 for jet pump installation, which impacted revenue and free cash flow. However, these setbacks saved expenditure, leaving Europa well-funded for 2024.
Holland outlines Europa's priorities for 2024, emphasising the expansion of the Wressle site upon receiving planning and Environmental Agency (EA) approvals. The company aims to drill two additional wells at Wressle by year-end, subject to necessary approvals expected by Q3 2024.
Other significant projects include finalising the work program and budget for their onshore UK Cloughton asset, progressing stakeholder engagement, and planning activities in Equatorial Guinea and on Ireland’s Atlantic Margin.
Holland stresses the importance of these developments in strengthening Europa's position in the industry and ensuring robust performance in the coming year.

  • Thor Explorations meets guidance despite "most challenging year" at Segilola
Thor Explorations Ltd (TSX-V:THX, AIM:THX, OTC:THXPF) president and CEO Segun Lawson speaks to Thomas Warner from Proactive after the West Africa focused gold producer released a production update for 2023 and fresh guidance for 2024.
Lawson provides a comprehensive update on the company's performance and plans, saying that Thor Explorations produced 21,798 ounces of gold in Q4 2023, contributing to a total annual production of nearly 85,000 ounces. Despite facing challenges, the company successfully completed significant projects, including the west wall expansion, which improved the mine's efficiency and reduced costs.
Lawson emphasises the completion of capital expenditure projects that enhanced recovery rates, and he highlighted the absence of major CapEx obligations for 2024. This year, the company's focus will shift to operating efficiently and expanding exploration activities in Nigeria. Thor Explorations reported success in exploration last year, discovering high-grade gold intersections in the southern prospects area near the mine.
Additionally, Lawson touches on the potential of lithium exploration. While he says recent drill results haven't warranted a standalone press release, the company is planning another drilling campaign to explore the value of lithium for shareholders.
Looking ahead to 2024, Lawson expresses optimism, citing strong gold prices and the company's guidance of producing 95 -100,000 ounces at a cost of around $1,200 per ounce. The company also anticipates completing a preliminary feasibility study for its Douta Project in Senegal, delayed due to metallurgy testing.

  • IQGeo Group celebrates first year of being cash flow positive
IQGeo Group PLC (AIM:IQG) chief executive Richard Petti and chief financial officer Haywood Chapman speak to Thomas Warner from Proactive after the network management software company released an update on its performance in 2023.
Petti highlights a remarkable 66% increase in total revenue, reaching over £44 million, with over 56% being organic growth. He attributes the success to strategic acquisitions and an enthusiastic client base. The company also saw a 40% increase in orders, amounting to nearly £57 million, and a striking 200% rise in EBITDA to £6.4 million.
Chapman emphasises the resilience of their markets—telecoms and utilities—even amidst economic downturns. He noted the ongoing demand for fibre and 5G in telecoms and the need for infrastructure upgrades in utilities. The company benefits from both private and public investments, particularly in North America, where government spending, including over $130 billion in broadband equity programs, bolsters demand.
Chapman talks about IQGeo's "land and expand" strategy, highlighting growth driven by acquiring major telecom and utility customers in North America and EMEA, coupled with a 132% net retention rate in recurring revenue from existing customers. The company also reported an increase in gross margins to 60% and a positive cash flow for the first time in 2023, ending the year with £11 million in cash.
The pair say that the company is poised for continued success in 2024, with the full results expected to be released in mid-March.

  • GTI Energy appoints US president of operations as uranium market heats up
As the uranium price heats, GTI Energy Ltd (ASX: GTR) executive director Bruce Lane joins Jonathan Jackson in the Proactive studio to discuss the uranium market, the activity in the sector, particularly in Russia and the US, GTI’s role in US uranium and what’s to come in 2024. Notably, the company has just appointed Matt Hartmann as president of US operations as the US is poised to return to meaningful uranium production in the near-term. Hartmann has extensive experience in the uranium sector and comes to GTI as it has established itself in Wyoming and assembled a portfolio of compelling uranium projects that would suggest the company is undervalued in the current US$100 per pound uranium market.
