  • MTB Metals first hole of drilling at Telegraph Project Confirms Mineralization
MTB Metals CEO Lawrence Roulston joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share exciting assay results from the inaugural drill program at the company's flagship Telegraph Project in the highly prolific Golden Triangle region.
The results from Hole DK2023-01 are particularly noteworthy, with an intersection of 107 meters carrying 0.38% copper equivalent (CuEq). Within this interval, another 6-meter section boasts a higher grade of 1.07% CuEq. These intersections are found within a broader zone of mineralization that averages 0.21% CuEq over 436 meters.
Roulston explained that Hole 1 was positioned on the margin of a prominent IP (induced polarization) chargeability zone, and this zone appears to be dipping away from the drill hole trace. Further drilling will be required to define the geometry of the hydrothermal system and to better target areas of increased mineralization.
The drilling results confirm the presence of valuable mineralization in the Telegraph Project and validate the use of geophysical data, specifically IP chargeability anomalies, as a valuable tool for identifying potential mineral-rich areas. This development underscores the exploration potential and significance of the Telegraph Project within the Golden Triangle, setting the stage for further exploration and discovery in this highly prospective region.

  • Volta Metals discover Spodumene-Bearing Pegmatites as company releases final hole at Falcon west
Volta Metals CEO Karem Usenmez joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share exciting news about the company's Falcon West Lithium Property in northwestern Ontario, Canada. Volta Metals has successfully completed its inaugural drill program at the property, consisting of 11 holes and covering a total distance of 933 meters.
This drill program focused on five recently discovered spodumene pegmatites within a 300m by 500m area. The results have been promising, with all drill holes intersecting near-surface spodumene mineralization. In particular, one drill hole intersected an 11.7-meter-wide mineralized pegmatite that remains open in all directions.
Notably, this first-ever drilling program tested only a small portion of the expansive 13km² land package held by Volta Metals. The valuable lithochemistry and structural data obtained from this early phase of drilling will play a crucial role in the ongoing development of a lithium pegmatite exploration model.
These achievements underscore Volta Metals' commitment to exploring and developing its mineral assets, particularly in the promising lithium space. The results of this drill program signify the potential for valuable lithium resources within the Falcon West Lithium Property, further contributing to the growth of the clean energy and electric vehicle sectors.

  • Aclara Resources announces 400% increase in resources with new discovery in Brazil
Aclara Resources CFO Francois Motte joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share exciting news regarding the company's resource expansion through a significant discovery of ionic clay in Brazil. This discovery has led to the Inferred Resource Estimate for the Carina Module, reported in accordance with NI 43-101 guidelines, which stands at an impressive 168 million tonnes with a total rare earth oxide content of 1,510 ppm.
Of particular importance is the presence of substantial quantities of critical rare earth elements such as Dysprosium, Terbium, Neodymium, and Praseodymium within the Carina resource. These rare earth elements hold significant importance in the manufacturing of electric vehicles and wind turbines, making this discovery highly relevant to the clean energy sector.
Motte highlighted that Aclara's rare earth recovery process aligns seamlessly with the company's patented and successfully demonstrated processing technology at a pilot scale. This technology is specifically designed to minimize both cost and environmental impact. Notably, the ionic clays rich in rare earths will be extracted from a shallow open pit using mechanical excavation. Importantly, this process does not generate tailings, eliminating the need for a tailings storage facility.
Looking ahead, Aclara Resources has ambitious plans to further enhance the resource base. This includes adding resources at depth through a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program already in progress and scheduled for completion in Q2 2024. Additionally, the company aims to produce samples by piloting Carina's ionic clays at Aclara's pilot plant in Chile during December 2023 and January 2024. These steps will pave the way for the completion of an initial Preliminary Economic Assessment in January 2024.
This remarkable discovery and resource expansion highlight Aclara Resources' commitment to supplying critical rare earth elements essential for the growth of clean energy technologies while embracing environmentally responsible mining practices.

  • Tonix Pharmaceuticals shared details of IND clearance for Phase 2 trial of TNX-2900
Tonix Pharmaceuticals CEO Dr. Seth Lederman recently joined Steve Darling from Proactive to delving into the significant development involving the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) clearance of the Investigational New Drug (IND) application for TNX-2900. This innovative drug represents a proprietary magnesium-enhanced formulation of intranasal oxytocin, designed to address Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) in children and adolescents.
Dr. Lederman was quick to highlight the importance of this milestone, noting that TNX-2900 had already been granted Orphan Drug designation by the FDA back in 2022. The IND clearance paves the way for a crucial Phase 2 study, aimed at determining the optimal dosage for TNX-2900 in treating PWS. This study will involve approximately 36 PWS patients, thoughtfully divided into four distinct groups, each comprising around nine patients. Within these groups, one will receive a placebo, while the remaining three will be administered varying dosage regimens of TNX-2900.
Tonix Pharmaceuticals' strategic plan includes the intention to collaborate with a partner to further advance TNX-2900 through its clinical development for PWS. This collaborative effort underscores the commitment to addressing a pressing medical need, as PWS stands out as the most common genetic cause of life-threatening childhood obesity. Importantly, PWS affects both males and females equally, spanning all races and ethnicities. This complex syndrome arises due to the absence of expression of specific genes located on the paternally acquired chromosome 15.
In essence, this groundbreaking development in the treatment of Prader-Willi syndrome represents a significant step forward in the pursuit of better outcomes for children and adolescents grappling with this challenging condition, demonstrating Tonix Pharmaceuticals' dedication to advancing medical science and improving the lives of those affected by rare diseases.

  • iClima Earth says decarbonisation "bloodbath" is over
iClima Earth CEO Gabriela Herculano speaks to Thomas Warner from Proactive after publishing the November edition of the "Monthly Dose of Climate Solutions" report - a report she describes as being highly encouraging after a tough period for the decarbonisation sector.
She highlights a significant turnaround in the iClima Global Decarbonisation Enablers Index from October to November, saying that the index moved from a "bloodbath in October, to a somewhat green rally in November" following dovish signals from the US Federal Reserve.
Herculano anticipates a strong year for fixed income strategists, expecting returns close to historical equity market returns due to potential interest rate cuts.
She stresses that sectors underperforming and less sensitive to interest rates, especially in green renewable companies, could experience significant growth in the new year. Herculano cited the energy transition's unpredictability but remained optimistic, noting the daily addition of over one gigawatt of solar energy globally, with a significant portion being solar rooftops in Europe. She also highlighted the surge in electric vehicle sales in the US and the boom in clean energy storage in the US, Europe, and Australia.
Herculano anticipates a convergence of investment approaches in 2024, combining energy transition enthusiasm with attractive valuations. She predicts that lower interest rates before the US presidential elections will catalyze a green rally.

  • "Midstream doing what it should" - VettaFi
VettaFi Head of Energy Research Stacey Morris speaks to Thomas Warner from Proactive about the latest developments in the midstream sector of the energy industry.
Morris explains that despite softening oil prices softening since late September, the midstream sector has been "doing what it should" and providing a robust defence for investors. She says that the index underlying the Alerian Midstream Energy Dividend UCITS ETF (MMLP) rose 7% in November despite a 6% fall in WTI prices over the same period.
"What we like about the midstream space is that these companies can generate free cash flow whether oil is at $60, $80 or $100/bl. That's allowing to really execute on paying dividends and buying back their equity."
When pressed on what's next for oil prices, Morris describes the outlook as "murky" and highlights what she considers a lack of upside drivers heading into 2023 and increasing supply from outside the OPEC+ group.

  • FTSE 100 up but investment platforms warned over "double-dipping" - Market Report
Good morning from London, where the FTSE 100 is up this morning after a positive night in the Asian markets and ahead of some important US inflation figures and the start of the two-day FOMC meeting.
AJ Bell head of financial analysis Danni Hewson says that the Fed has "a rather tight rope to walk as bankers try and keep confidence in check without squashing it entirely." And it’ll be our turn on Thursday when the Bank of England makes its latest interest rate announcement.
On the FTSE 100 now and so far its Rio Tinto the biggest gainer so far and Hargreaves Lansdown propping up the foot of the table. Their share price is down 6% as it stands after the Financial Conduct Authority warned investment platforms like it and AJ Bell over the practice of charging to hold people’s cash and then accruing interest on it. Dubbed “double dipping”, the FCA said customers may not be receiving fair value as brokers essentially gain two means of income from their uninvested funds. The regulator has set a deadline of 29 February 2024 for the issues to be fixed.
Finally in small caps, Condor Gold have re-upped this morning with their second fundraise announcement in as many weeks. Existing directors are increasing their stakes to help fund efforts to finally sell off the La India Gold Project in Nicaragua.

  • Greencoat UK Wind capacity passes 2GW but still "has to be patient"
Greencoat UK Wind PLC (LSE:UKW) Investment co-Manager Stephen Lilly speaks to Thomas Warner from Proactive after the company announced it has completed the acquisition of a 49.9% interest in Kype Muir Extension wind farm from Banks Renewables.
Lilly provides more detail about this latest step in a long-term deal and says it has propelled Greencoat's capacity to over two gigawatts.
Lilly also addresses Greencoat's cautious capital allocation strategy, acknowledging the challenges in raising equity and the importance of judicious investment decisions. Despite opportunities for expansion, current market conditions limit their ability to acquire new assets. The company has prioritised shareholder value through strategies like buybacks and dividend increases, with the recent dividend being raised to 10 pence.
Furthermore, Lilly expresses frustration over the market's perceived undervaluation of Greencoat's return on investment. He stressed the significance of returns over yields, especially in a rising interest rate environment. Lilly believes the market has not fully appreciated the combined value of Greencoat's dividends and reinvestments but says Greencoat UK Wind is "well placed... so we're not unduly worried - we just have to be patient."
The interview also touched on personnel changes within Greencoat, specifically the transition of Laurence Fumagalli, a long-time colleague of Lilly. Matt Ridley, a familiar face in the UK wind sector and current Head of Private Markets at Schroders Greencoat, is set to succeed Fumagalli, ensuring continuity in the company's leadership.
