Silver X Mining CEO Jose Garcia joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share news the company shared its production results for the three months ended June 30, 2023, for the Nueva Recuperada project in central Peru. The company achieved steady production with a total throughput of 35,392 tonnes, compared to 20,877 tonnes in the second quarter of 2022. In terms of metal production, Silver X processed 296,493 silver equivalent ounces in Q2 2023, representing a 35% increase from 219,488 ounces in Q2 2022. However, the company experienced an unexpected drop in grades in some mineralized areas, which affected metal production and resulted in it staying at the previous quarter's level.
To address this issue and enhance metal throughput while reducing operating costs, Silver X Mining has devised a plan after meeting with its technical team, consultants, and contractors. As part of this strategic operational reset, the company has decided to place operations on hold for an estimated period of 30 to 45 days. During this time, they will implement measures to reduce operational costs by 20% and aim to bring production back up to 165,000 silver equivalent ounces per month. The company is taking these proactive steps to optimize its operations and ensure the efficient and sustainable growth of the Nueva Recuperada project.
