FTSE 100 made a strong start to the day ahead of the Bank of England’s interest rate decision later today.
Among the large caps, Vodafone entered a strategic relationship with e&. The Emirates telecoms giant, which holds a 14.6% stake in Vodafone, will become a cornerstone shareholder in the London-listed firm.
Another FTSE 100 company, Rolls-Royce, said its transformation is “moving at pace” ahead of its AGM today. The turbine manufacturer confirmed trading is also in line with expectations.
Elsewhere, ITV reported a 10% fall in advertising revenue in the first quarter, although it added overall performance was in line with forecasts.
Among the small caps, Ilika said it made the first customer shipments of its stacked Stereax M300 batteries. The deliveries are part of a series planned to customers such as CubeWorks and Lura Health.
