  • Episode 16: Sphinx (I know, she's extra pubes)

Sam tackles the clever and enigmatic sphinx! In this episode Carly demonstrates her badass riddle prowess as well as her impressive riddle ineptitude. Sam makes everyone, including Carly's cat uncomfortable with her--unique--perspective on pet fur. And you'll learn about Sam's childhood man-cat named Kate. Honestly, the description of her cat is...umm...definitely description?

  • Episode 15: Mikoshi-nyudo (Revenge of the talls)

This week the ladies zag on you! In this m-night-shyamalan-ian twist, Carly picks the topic (because, normally, Sam chooses for odd-number episodes). And that's right, bitches! She's taking you back to Japan! Last time you met the charming and pretty much non-existent, BetoBeto, this time you'll be introduced to a far more deadly creature, who is more than meets the eye! Will Sam survive this imaginary journey back to old-timey Japan? (Spoiler alert, she totally doesn't. This creature make her dead as fuck. But don't worry, it all make-believe!) Sam's animosity towards the talls continues in this squirrelly evening recording of NIGHTCAST!

  • Episode 14: Nut (Don't think about the incest in the garden of eden)

Carly tells Sam about Nut (pronounced Nuit). She's the Egyptian sky goddess who has mastered down-dog, eats the sun-boat every night, and can't get enough of making love to her brother-husband. She's a pretty intriguing deity. This is one of the first episodes where the ladies are enjoying a beer, or two. They didn't share one beer, because they're adults and can finish their own beers. Sam provides some pretty hip craft tips about improving the glow-in-the-dark stars for your 90s middle school bedroom. Sam also really thoth you'd like this one. (I know. I hate it too.)

  • Episode 13: Doppelgängers (Did I give birth to a horn baby?)

Sam keeps it spooky as she explores the impressively extensive topic of doppelgängers. The idea of doubles have existed across cultures and generations for thousands of years. How bonkers is that?! And Sam reveals a deep-seated resentment that could destroy the ladies' friendship forever. And more!

  • Episode 12: Nokken (I should stop period-shaming cats)

Probably Improbable Podcast, Episode 12: In this week's episode, Carly explains why it's important to stay out of the water--rivers, lakes, swamps, waterfalls, you name it. If it's water, stay away. Because almost every culture seems to have some water-dwelling entity that super wants to drown you. Carly, however, is focusing on the Nokken. He's a sexy shape-shifter that plays the violin, naked--probably. Find out why Sam spat in a man's face, and the useful (not useful) skills Carly learned at bible camp! Sam does an amazing rendition of Rolling Stone's "Wild Horses" and shares her remarkable impression of the MN state bird. The ladies get squirrelly, Carly tries to read out loud, and Sam crushes her soul. We are a beautiful train-wreck. Join us?

  • Episode 11: The Green Children of Woolpit (A poison painting is the worst way to murder))

This week Sam explores the legend of the Green Children of Woolpit. Were they mysterious beings from another dimension? Aliens? Malnourished Flemish immigrants? The possibilities are endless! Join us as we fondly remember about Bury Saint Edmunds, Abby Gardens, an awful non-magic magic show, and Sam laments her missed opportunity to reenact this vague historic event with her niece and nephew. Thank you England for fun village names and appreciation of hi-vis. The ladies also start their own religion to rival scientology.

  • Episode 10: La Ciguapa (If you trap her you get a magic show)

Carly stumbled upon a delightful creature from the Dominican Republic. In this week's episode the ladies discuss La Ciguapa, an alluring, chirping, naked, human-esque, wild being who lives in mountains and forests. Oh! And is magic! Oh! And she has backwards feet! How f--king bonkers is that?! Sam shares her impressive songbird abilities, and the ladies start the most awkward and uncomfortable sex line ever. So that's fun.

Probably Improbable Podcast, episode 09: This week, Sam covers a topic that terrifies Carly. So, she's glad she didn't have to research it. Shadow people. Are they ghosts? • Episode 08: Baba Yaga (And the haunted vagina)

For episode eight, Carly shares what she's learned about the Baba Yaga of Russian folklore, a supernatural with a chicken feet house. Sam realizes she would have made a perfect Baba Yaga, had she not done that whole falling-in-love-and-getting-married-thing because she'd love to hang out with a cat on her back (Sam's ideal future pictured below). We also learn about the time Carly had cat-litter-brain-virus. Show notes and sources: https://probablyimprobablepodcast.home.blog/2019/08/03/episode-08-baba-yaga-and-a-haunted-vagina/

  • Episode 07: Pied Piper (The flash mob gone wrong)

This week Sam shares the fascinating (genuinely) potential truths behind the tale of the Pied Piper. Did you know there was a kid’s Crusade? (And it’s much less adorable than it sounds. Wait? Does that even sound adorable? You’re right, it doesn’t.) You also get to learn about Sam’s love of cake frosting videos on YouTube, and Carly’s dabbling in Christianity in college.
