This episode is all about counseling. I answer questions such as:
“What do counselors do?”
“Do I need to go to counseling?”
“What is the difference between a counselor and a therapist, or a psychologist and a psychiatrist?”
"Are some counselors better than others?" and
“How Can I Find a Good Counselor?”
The demand for counselors is increasing as people in our society are dealing with more and more mental health challenges. I explain the ins and outs of psychotherapy (therapy) and how this treatment can affect your life.
Anxiety is a very tricky, and pervasive problem. But it CAN be managed - if you understand it and have the right tools. In this episode, we explore how and why the brain reacts to perceived "threats," and how we can re-train the brain to escape the traps of panic and fear. I will introduce you to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Exposure Therapy. I will also teach you some positive affirmations you can tell yourself during an anxiety attack.

Are negative thoughts and worries swirling around your head and causing you emotional turmoil? I had this experience last week, and it was miserable. In this episode I talk a little about my own experiences, plus I share a strategy that you can use to lessen the pain a little. Remember, if you feel that you need additional support, please reach out to someone! A friend, family member, or a professional. Don't suffer alone.
