Proclaiming Justice

On September 11, 2001, the face of America was forever changed. The foreign power of radical Islam forged the hatred that unfolded that day. Can we disregard the ongoing threat—and if so will history repeat itself? The answer holds our future in the balance. To stand with Israel is in our best interest as we look back now from the vantage point of time. A weakened Israel means the floodgates of the Middle East are opened to emboldened Islamist regimes that bring the promise of a new generation of radicalized hatred against America. “Lest We Forget” is a reminder of all we must do to insure the future of our nation.

The Imperial declaration, "Let us then have nothing in common with the Jews" uttered by the Roman Emperor Constantine in 329 AD is known in history as "Constantine's Sword" --a declaration from Rome that declared a formal split between Christianity and the Jews. It signaled the first seeds of a violent intolerance towards the Jews some three hundred years after the death of Jesus. Impacting Jewish communities all across the European continent, "Constantine Sword" laid the groundwork for the waves of violent antisemitism that would later grow to engulf all of Europe.

During the horrors of the dark age of the "Inquisition," the Jews of Spain and Portugal were under tremendous persecution to relinquish their practice of Judaism and forcibly become "Catholics" under penalty of torture and execution for those who refused to comply. Many fled and many secretly continued to practice their Jewish traditions as "hidden Jews." As we'll discover in today's "Proclaiming Justice" podcast, now here in the 21st century, millions around the world are tracing their ancestries to for the first time discover their true Jewish heritage.

Full Interview with Rabbi Nathan Lopes Cardozo from the FOI Episode "Lost Jews of the Inquisition" --

European history tells us that tens of thousands of Jews were forcibly expelled from Portugal in December of 1496 when Portugal’s King decreed that all Jews must leave the country. The King wished to completely and forever eradicate Judaism from Portugal by issuing two conflicting decrees. The initial edict of expulsion of 1496 later became an edict of forced conversion. In 1497, Portuguese Jews were prevented from leaving the country and were forcibly baptized and converted to Christianity. Thousands of these “new Christians”, known as “conversos”, were massacred amid the bloodshed and constant cruel hand of the Inquisition.

Today's guest on the "Proclaiming Justice" podcast...
Nathan Lopes Cardozo (born 1946) is a Dutch-born Israeli rabbi and Jewish philosopher, founder of the David Cardozo Academy in Jerusalem. Born in Amsterdam, his father was a secular Jew who was proud of his Portuguese Jewish origin. Today, Rabbi Cardozo explains the origins of the Sephardic Jews of Spain and Portugal who were forced to flee or convert to Catholicism at the risk of death during the Inquisition edict in the 1400's.

One of America's most celebrated, often controversial, legal voices -- Alan Dershowitz is a true Jewish American patriot and defender of Israel. A Harvard law professor emeritus, Dershowitz is a shining beacon in a sea of leftwing liberalism within the Democrat party. His right leaning views on foreign policy, anti-Israel propaganda, antisemitism and leftist extremism, have found him regularly making headlines--most recently just this month in August 2023 for his public defense of Donald Trump in the face of 2020 election accusations. Meet this legendary newsmaker today on the "Proclaiming Justice" podcast.

David Rubin, today's guest on our Proclaiming Justice podcast, is founder and president of Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund (SICF) – dedicated to healing the trauma of child victims of terrorist attacks, as well as rebuilding the biblical heartland of Israel through the children. David is a former mayor of Shiloh, Israel – in the region of Samaria, which together with Judea, is known to much of the world as the West Bank.

SHILOH ISRAEL CHILDREN’S FUND was established after David and his three-year-old son were wounded in a vicious terrorist attack while driving home from Jerusalem. Rubin vowed to retaliate – not with hatred, nor with anger, but with compassion – to create positive change for Israel and its children.
Rubin has become an unofficial spokesman for Israel and the biblical heartland of Israel and he has authored books about what’s really happening in Israel and the Middle East. Rubin also has written extensively about the Israel US relationship, as well as the very real threat of Jihadist Islam to Judeo-Christian civilization. These books have included The Islamic Tsunami: Israel and America in the Age of Obama and Peace For Peace.
Rubin’s latest book, Trump and the Jews, was released in October 2018. Trump and the Jews explains the complicated nature of the small, but highly influential American Jewish community, its natural, yet uneasy relationship with the State of Israel, and the role of religious Jews (as well as Christians) in passionate support of Trump, and of Israel.

David Rubin has appeared on Fox News, Newsmax TV, and many other television and radio shows, while his articles have appeared in the Jerusalem Post, Israel National News, and numerous other publications. A featured speaker throughout North America and elsewhere, Rubin is known as the “Trusted Voice of Israel”. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Rubin resides in Israel with his wife and children on a hilltop overlooking the site of Ancient Shiloh, the hallowed ground where the Tabernacle of Israel stood for 369 years, in the time of Joshua, Hannah, and Samuel the Prophet.

This episode of the "Proclaiming Justice" podcast features an interview with Yitzhak Santis, Chief Programs Officer of NGO Monitor. As today's discussion with host Laurie Cardoza Moore reveals, there exists a little known global network of non-governmental agencies – called NGOs – that are leading the world in an effort to delegitimize and destroy Israel. In 2002, Mr. Santis' organization --NGO Monitor--was founded as a new research institute dedicated to exposing and fighting against this unholy coalition of antisemitic, anti-Israel organizations, including Christian Aid, Bethlehem Bible College & Christ at the Checkpoint. It is truly a David vs. Goliath struggle.
