This module has two objectives. Objective one is to analyse as a marketing executive which messages in the packaging will positively differentiate it from competitors. Objective two is to create the packaging as a product design team and therefore to become aware of the good (and bad) moments in the creative process. Your first project in the design course will be to select a design subject that will be presented in the classroom with a group of 4 to 5 fellow students. Here you will find information about the topics that you can choose from and information for preparing your presentation. It also contains a document that your team will have to complete and bring with you in our first real class room. The various design presentation will allow you to obtain a background in design history and actual design themes. During the classes, your professor will link these topics with one another and place them in their historical context.

Design can have a very positive influence on company performance. Several examples such as Swatch watches, the iMac and a Signal toothbrush are therefore presented. You will also discover the two main projects in this course: the design presentation and the message in the bottle project. This introduction aims to get your (passioned) interest for design and to show you the positive impact it can have on company performance.
