In this Episode we look at the first paragraph of page 2 of 1984 by George Orwell. We talk about the meaning of oblong, dim and dull. We practice using the word somewhat (meaning a little bit). We also talk about the advanced phrase  "what does .....have to do with ...." to ask about how two things are connected or related.

In this Episode we practice suing the phrasal verb "see about" which means ask question about something learn more about something so that you can decide what to do next. see about buying a car = discover what you need to buy a car | Which car is best for you see about getting a passport : what is the process for getting a passport. What paperwork do you need to fill out See about a friend in the hospital: is the friend ok. Can you help them in some way?

In this episode we practice using the phrasal verb "see through" a lie or "see through" a liar which means someone tries to tell a lie but in somehow you can see it is a trick. Try this English fluency and listening comprehension and improve your English skills while practicing this phrasal verb.

We do Fluency and listening comprehension exercises using 1 phrase found in this paragraph. We talk about how to use  the word "so" in a very interesting way that you have probably never studied in English class or learned from a book and the we practice using it in this new way.  The same way "so" is used int he book.

When you use a phrasal verb ending with around,  you can usually substitute the word around to the word about and it will mean the same thing.  This little trick only works when the word 'around' means. There is no goal purpose or reason for the action. For example Drive around means to drive with no destination. Driving for no special purpose. You can also say drive about and it means the same thing. Walk around means walking just for the reason of walking. Walking for no purpose. You can also say walk about etc.
