Dr. Lisa VanHoose is an Associate Professor and Program Director in the Physical Therapy Department at the University of Louisiana Monroe. Dr. VanHoose received her PhD in Rehabilitation Science and MPH from the University of Kansas Medical Center. She completed fellowships at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging and the National Institute of Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute PRIDE Summer Institute with an emphasis in Cardiovascular Genetic Epidemiology. Her Bachelor of Science in Health Science and Master of Science in Physical Therapy were completed at the University of Central Arkansas. Dr. VanHoose has practiced oncologic physical therapy since 1996. She is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Oncologic Physical Therapy. As a NIH, PCORI, and industry funded researcher, Dr. VanHoose investigates socioecological models of cancer related side effects with an emphasis on minority and rural cancer survivorship. She has been an advocate for movement of all persons, including the elimination of social policies and practices that are barriers to movement friendly environments.

Mark Kaufman is the founder and Executive Chairman of Athletico Physical Therapy which offers outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation in twelve states and over 500 locations.  He attended the University of Iowa, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and Physical Education in 1986. In 1988, Kaufman obtained an M.S. in Exercise and Sports Sciences from the University of Arizona, and in 1989 he earned his B.S. in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University. 

In 1991, Kaufman opened his first rehabilitation center on Clark Street in the Gold Coast Area of downtown Chicago. Athletico’s reputation as a top-quality provider of outpatient physical therapy enabled them to expand their services and drive their expansion.  The growth of Athletico’s outreach programs has mirrored the advancement of their patient care. Athletico is proud to be the official physical therapy and athletic training partner to organizations at all levels – from professional sports teams, to colleges and high schools, to elite endurance events, performing arts groups, and gymnastics programs.  Notable partnerships include:

Over the past 29 years, Kaufman has carefully monitored the growth of his company and recently stepped into the role of Executive Chairman. Mark and his wife Mary Ann, have three daughters.  Mark has been a board member at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago since 2004 and served as Board Chair for two terms.  He is also on the Advisory Board for Advocate Health System at Good Samaritan Hospital, a member of the Arthritis & Orthopedics Leadership Committee at Rush University Medical Center, an Executive Council member of the Chicago Sports Commission, member of the Development Council for United States Soccer, Director of the Western Golf Association - Evans Scholar Foundation, and a founding member of the board of directors for Operation Walk Chicago.

Dr. Tony Rocklin is a licensed physical therapist with 23 years of clinical experience specializing in orthopedic and sports medicine.  He is a former partner, and current clinician, with Therapeutic Associates (TAI), the largest physical therapist-owned rehabilitation company in the USA.  Dr. Rocklin attended Oregon State University, where he was a member of the university basketball team, graduating with a BS degree in Exercise and Sport Science in 1994. He earned his Physical Therapy degree with distinction from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, and completed his clinical doctorate in 2008. He continued his advanced education with the North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy, achieving Level IV Certification in Manual and Manipulative Therapy. His specialty area, and the focus of the last 17 years of his career, has been hip intra-articular pathology, including osteoarthritis (OA), femoral acetabular impingement syndrome (FAIS) and labral tears. He is an active advocate for improvements in conservative management of these conditions prior to surgery.

Dr. Rocklin is a regular speaker on the conservative treatment of hip intra-articular pathologies. He has authored the Modern Conservative Management White Paper V1.1 and is co-author of the study, “Manual Therapy, Therapeutic Exercise and HipTrac for Patients with Hip Osteoarthritis: A Case Series" published in the January 2017 issue of Orthopedic Physical Therapy Practice.  Dr. Rocklin has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association as well as the Oregon Physical Therapy Association since 1995.  He can be contacted at [email protected].

Drew Contreras PT, DPT, SCS, CMTPT received his Master of Physical Therapy from Gannon University in 1998 and his post-Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008.  He is an APTA board certified Sports Clinical Specialist since 2003.  His professional interests are sports medicine; tactical athletes; manual therapy; blood flow restriction; bio-technology; musculoskeletal injury prevention, diagnosis and rehabilitation as well as human performance optimization. 

Serving over 20 years on active duty as a career military officer and practicing physical therapist within the US Army & Department of Defense, Drew has served in a number of settings and military units throughout his career before his retirement in 2020. He spent his early career at Ft Benning, GA and then moved on to Ft Bragg, NC.  He served in various roles within fixed medical facilities as well as with airborne and special operations units.  His skills were put to work extensively in 2006-2007 during a 15 month continuous deployment during Operation Iraqi Freedom where he was the first physical therapist to serve in sustained combat operations with the 82nd Airborne Division. After returning Drew moved to Washington DC to work at the Pentagon Health Clinic where he served as the Director of Wellness and Physical Therapy.  During this time he served as a consultant to the White House Medical Unit and was then chosen as a by name selection by President Obama to serve as the first ever full time physical therapist at the White House.  There he served as the Physical Therapist to the White House Medical Unit and President of the United States Barack Obama from 2010 until the end of the administration in 2017.  He finished his career returning to Ft Bragg to serve as the Chief of Physical Performance Service Line of the largest PT services in the DOD and the senior PT on Ft Bragg where he also assisted with the initial implementation and fielding of the US Army Holistic Health and Fitness program.

After retiring from the US Army, he returned to Washington DC and established a concierge PT and consulting practice.  In 2021, he was asked to come back in a consulting and civilian advisory capacity to the White House Medical Unit, where he currently serves as the Physical Therapist to President Joe Biden.  He continues to present various topics, techniques and concepts at various CEU opportunities across multiple platforms.

Mike Dunn is the fourth generation CEO of Dunn Lumber.

He is the father of three married children, two of which work for the company and four grandchildren who are a source of unending joy!

Mike starting working after school in 1969 and has done practically every job in the company. His favorite job was buying the lumber, plywood and other commodities which he did for 20 years. For the last 20, Mike has been working on strengthening Dunn Lumber Culture. They call their culture, The Legacy of Trust.

He loves boating and golf when he has time but mostly he's found interacting with the team members, vendors and customers. As he’s very fond of saying, "trust is hard to build and easy to lose!”

Gus Hauser went to Furman University and received his BA, then went into coaching basketball first at a division 3 school and eventually at a Division 1 school as the assistant coach at Louisiana Lafayette home of the Rain Cajuns.  He later got his MBA at the University of Massachusetts and then took a position as the COO of PT Pros, a physical therapy company in Kentucky with 12 locations. 

Chris received his PhD in biomedical informatics from Oregon Health & Science University, School of Medicine, his Masters of Science and Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees from Pacific University and undergraduate degree in biology from Willamette University.  He is board certified in orthopedics and fellowship trained in manual physical therapy.  He has worked as a physical therapist, clinic director, and more recently Director of Knowledge Management for Therapeutic Associates Inc.  In that role he has overseen the company’s strategy related to the use of organization data in business and clinical decision making, quality improvement efforts, and value-based care initiatives. 

In 2014, Chris returned to school to study biomedical informatics, in hopes of applying the concepts that were focusing personalized medicine and evidence-based practice in the field of medicine, to the field of PT.  He was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship from the National Library of Medicine and a PODS I scholarship from the Foundation for Physical Therapy for his research related to the facilitators and barriers to PT managers’ use of clinical information systems to oversee clinical quality.  

Chris has applied his informatics training as a consultant to the APTA relative to health IT interoperability and a member of the PT Outcomes Registry Scientific Advisory Panel.  He has also worked as a consultant to large health systems focused on data analytics strategy and improved organizational use of information for decision making. More recently he received an Assistant Professor appointment with Oregon Health and Science University, School of Medicine, Department of Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology where he teaches courses in qualitative research methods and organizational behavior.  He also continues his research now focusing on usability of patient reported quality of life measures and is a member of a multi-disciplinary team on and AHRQ-funded study to establish safe training and use of medical scribes.  This has allowed him to develop a model of and training process for the use of scribes in PT.  He is also a member of a research team exploring the use of PROMIS measures to support clinicians’ use of a bio-psycho-social approach to PT intervention.   

Chris has dedicated his career to improving clinicians’ and business leaders’ use of information in their daily decision making.  His goal is to refine a sociotechnical framework that integrates information systems with organizational strategy, workflow design, and information presentation to allow practices and providers to thrive in the coming value-based healthcare landscape.  

Mayor Lynne Robinson joined the City Council in 2014, and she has a long history of civic involvement. She is a champion for startups and small business, and has encouraged startup and equity crowdfunding workshops at City Hall. Her colleagues voted her mayor in January 2020, after she previously served a term as deputy mayor.

Lynne also advocates for the environment, parks and open spaces, human services and affordable housing in Bellevue. She proposed a property tax exemption adopted by the council for multifamily complexes that include affordable housing. 

She represents the council on the Eastside Human Services Forum Executive Board, King County Cities Climate Collaboration, and the King County Mental Illness and Drug Disability Oversight Committee. She is council liaison to the Disability Board.

Before her election to the council, Lynne served on and chaired the Bellevue Network on Aging and the Parks & Community Services Board.

A physical therapist with her own business, Lynne holds a doctorate in physical therapy from Regis University and a bachelor's degree in physical therapy from Northwestern University Medical School. She also earned a bachelor's degree in community services from California State University Chico. In 2015 Governor Jay Inslee appointed Lynne to a three-year term on the state Board of Physical Therapy. Lynne developed an interest in computer science while in college, and she is on the Washington Technology Industry Association Cascadia Blockchain Council.

Lynne and husband Dan Watson have lived in the Woodridge neighborhood of Bellevue since 1997. Their children attended Bellevue public schools.

Ali Schoos grew up in Sunnyside, Washington and started picking Asparagus before school when she was in the 6th grade.  This early exposure to work ethic has served her well over the years in business.  She started with a small private physical therapy practice, grew her company and sold to a national player in the Rehab industry .  She worked at an executive level for Physiotherapy Associates for 7 years and then started over again in private practice.  The second time around she grew to 6 clinics and made sure each clinic had a director that also had ownership in the practice.  She has served in many roles in the state and national physical therapy associations and is currently a Board member for The Private Practice Section of the American Physical Therapy Association.  Her current physical therapy clinic is in Bellevue, Washington.
