We start off the show with a good amount of OU Softball talk because the ladies walked it off against Florida to advance to the national title series against Texas! Sooners now have a chance to win their unprecedented 4th straight national championship. We then talk baseball and how they blew it in their regional. Then it's on to football where we talk the latest ESPN FPI rankings that have OU 8th and 6 SEC teams in the Top 10. Matt gives an absurd take. We wrap up the show with our PGP MVPs! Welcome back to the program as the Guyz are fresh off a trip where all five were together once again for some fun. We start off the show talking OU Baseball and Softball and how their postseason is going so far as the women prepare for the WCWS and the men prepare to host their first regional in more than a decade. We then move on to Venables, Joe C, Moser and Jenny B in Destin, Florida for the spring meetings for the SEC. BV had an interview with George Stoia of Sooner Scoop and we break down some of the talking points from that. We wrap u[ the show with our PGP MVPs of the week and some light recruiting talk. Mark and Matt are joined by friend-of-the-pod Ryan Hile this week for a rousing discussion of all things Oklahoma. Matt circles the WaGanns to start the pod, which leads to an illuminating baseball breakdown out of Hile. The baseball and softball seasons are hitting their postseasons, and both feel good about where they're at. Afterwards, the Guyz ask Hile his thoughts on some of the topics the pod has already hit before - who does he see making the greatest impact from the 2024 freshman and transfer classes. Gann gives his Oklahoma City Thunder eulogy, and the Guyz give their MVPz.
The Guyz gang up once again! Matt starts the pod off with a rousing Circling of the WaGanns recapping great play by OU sports on the diamond and elsewhere. The Guyz pivot then to an important question spurred on by the closure of the transfer portal: which portal addition will make the greatest impact in 2024? Each Guy has a guy, and Mark's got a take on all the guys. Finally, what is it, 2022? Ryan is talking movies! We run through Cinema T's Letterboxd list for the year so far and have a great time with it, before wrapping things up with our PGP MVPz.
All 5 guys are back this week! Talking a little transfer portal news before we have a discussion on which OU sports will thrive in the SEC, and which are going to have a bit of a wake up call....
Matt, Mark, and Mason get together this week to discuss the recent ebbs and flows of the transfer portal and how they're impacting the Oklahoma Sooners. Matt breaks down the state of OU athletics at large, including the WBB team bringing in coveted transfer Raegan Beers and the MBB struggling to find its own stars to commit. Lastly, the Guyz hit on the NFL draft, covering both the Sooners in the draft and their own teams' (somewhat questionable) draft strategies, before sharing their PGP MVPz of the week.
The spring game has come and gone for the Sooners and we dive into what we saw on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. We talk about the depth pieces that were on full display and what position groups are beginning to look a little crowded for playing time. Be sure to follow us on all of our social media and like and subscribe to our youtube channel!
MARK IS BACK! We welcome back the prodigal son for this episode and it's spring game time in Oklahoma. We start off by previewing some of the transfer targets that will be in attendance at the spring game in Norman this weekend as well as one name that won't be in attendance. We then move to the game itself, what do we expect to happen and who are some guys that we're looking forward to seeing. We then pick our projected MVPs for the game and wrap it all up with some NBA talk and our PGP MVPs of the week!
Welcome back! OU announced this week that the season opener against Temple will be a Friday night game on August 30th. Is that the right call? Plus, some big names committed to the Sooners over the past couple of days, we break them all down! Like and subscribe!
