Progress and Challenges of the Goal Park Project in Houston

Goal Park Project Update:

Betirri provided an update on the progress of the park project in Houston.

Received an MOU from the city in March, contingent on raising 75% of the funds needed.

Restructuring to build a smaller scale of the park by 2026.

The World Cup will be used to bring more awareness and help raise funds.

Building a park typically takes 15 years, but the project was initially rushed to be completed in less than 10 years.

Gold Park Project Progress:

Betirri reported approximately 25% completion of creating a mini soccer pitch.

Plans to reach 50% completion by year-end.

Dr. Castellon discussed collaboration with students on architectural prototypes exhibited in Seoul, Houston, and Venice.

Interest in building the first outdoor prototype in Houston.

Emphasis on involving the community and students in real-world projects.
