Progressive House UK

The idea for the mix part of the show is super simple – to provide a soundtrack of new and archived tracks for you to enjoy during the week anytime you like. This week a little bit of a throwback to some of my favourite tracks around this time last year. It’s out and out Progressive House -building each track into a deep and dive into hypnotic spaced out grooves. Darker edged in the middle the mix then builds to a lighter end with the wonderful remix Sasha’s Rooms featuring one of my all-time faves John Graham. (Just on the fade-out you can here Parfume)

This week is a really special mix. This is the mind of our very own Candy, Admin and fellow founding member of Progressive House UK. Candy’s knowledge of music and track selection is second to none. You brain is going to flip when you here this mix as she’s been mixing only a few short weeks! She’s amazing and at PHUK we already adore her but we can't wait for our listeners to hear her first aired mix… this is gold and we’re so thrilled she’s one of our Residents.

This series has grown from strength to strength and the calibre of underground DJ’s that have created mixes for us so far has been amazing. It’s now time for one of Progressive House UK’s earliest family members to step up to the plate and make his mark– Lee Scott.

Lee’s style weaves effortlessly between deep house and progressive house whilst subtly fusing it together with backbone of tech house groove to create a well-studied audio soundscape. Beats can skip along happily while beautiful vocal tracks soar through and over soft warm basslines whilst within one quick transition the pace can change from a more laidback tempos into more urgent rolling rhythms and percussive workouts.

So be warned. Don’t be lulled into a false sense of security early doors as the moody, rumbling tracks creep in and deliver a solid blows right when you don’t expect them. His control of mood and tension throughout this mix will give you insight that this is a man who knows his dance floor and wants to tell you his unique musical story.

Ladies & Gentlemen we welcome 009 – Mixed & Compiled By Lee Scott

‘In the Mix’ residents show – QUiNTESSON 60 Mins

The idea for the mix part of the show is super simple – to provide a soundtrack of new and archived tracks for you to enjoy during the week anytime you like. G’day from sunny Australia! Its summer down here and Festival season has just begun. This mischievous, little set captures my feelings of excitement, love and shenanigans we Aussies are about to have in the year ahead. I’ve started off with a lovely melodic techno track called Beauty Warp by El Choop. It’s a simple but effective opening track that for me adds a sense of nostalgia of past parties and festivals.

The set continues with more minimalism and synths through track 2 and 3, all the while, maintaining a solid kick and hard baseline – preparing you for what’s ahead! Berlin Atmosphere is such a groovy number and it quickly climaxes into Silver Spoon by Cj Jeff - you should be dancing by now! J

I delve deeper in the second half of the mix with some deep house and prog to leave you all with a beautiful gem called Smoothed Buoyancy by Bongbeck.

‘In the Mix’ residents show – Danny Jarvis 60 Mins

For this set I’ve started off deep and melodic to create a hypnotic groove that builds gently. There’s subtle key changes and a gorgeous Acapella that I really thought worked with a couple of tracks - very much in tune with my ongoing awareness raising of mental health and a more gentle, more loving outlook in life - listen for the Key change accompaniment as female voice speaks to you.

There’s tracks from early in the year here too, some of my favourites that still really do it for me such as ‘Smiles’ by Analog Jungs & later in the mix Cid inc & Darin Epsilon’s ‘Outliers’ the Peter Dundov mix. That spellbinding groove slotting under Sebastien Busto’s out going Budapest track – another belter from back in Feb this year.

There’s brand new tracks from Subandrio and my late summer favourite ‘Genuine’ by my newer favourite artists - Michael A.

I hope you enjoy the 60 min quick fix mix – Progressive House UK ‘in the mix’

We're very pleased to present a wonderful talent and someone I'm proud to call a friend - Galvano. The second of our producers / DJ's to step up to the infamous PHUK series with his own take on the deep progressive house sound.

Expect solid groove, spine tingling keys and subtle changes in rhythm and depth of Sound. Of course Galvano's own productions 'Feels' and 'Escape Reality' have nestled in to this 2 hour mix along with the ever growing IN2U record labels other producers.

As with all our mixes this is a truly unique journey through Galvano's mind and contains original tracks you definitely won't have heard before. Ladies and gentlemen - 008 is served.
