Liz Cheney's great crime against the Republican Party is her refusal to turn her back on the truth. While Lindsey Graham thinks she doesn't understand that her position will hurt the Republican Party, the truth is she does. She has bigger fish to fry.

She's trying to save the country.

The next year or two may determine the very survival of the American Experiment. Dozens of cases that will define who we are and what we stand for will reach the courts and determine the future direction we choose as a republic.

Winning is the new losing. Don't think so? Democrats have the House, the Senate and the White House and they are shackled by the filibuster and are in great danger of losing everything at the mid-term elections, thanks to anti-American tactics by the Republican Party. Sadly, there may be nothing anyone can do about it.

A day does not make a lifetime. It doesn't make a country. But it could make a start.

These three reasons came to me this week. What reasons are  compelling to you? Why are you a progressive, or what is keeping you from becoming one?

Compromise becomes a legacy when it becomes what you are known for. Not for principles or an actual ideology, but for being ready, willing and able to toss that all aside for the short end money. When a country begins its journey with the Three-Fifths Compromise you just know there is trouble ahead, and it has dogged us for our entire history. The Civil War wasn't a war at all, it was just one battle in a struggle that continues for the soul of our country. Today's headlines scream that out.
