  • The Second Impeachment Trial

The second annual impeachment trial is now underway. Today the constitutionality of the proceeding was argued but now the fun begins. Will the GOP rally around the populist wing of the party or will they split apart at the seams? This trial is actually far less about the guilt of Donald Trump and much more about the survival of the Republican Party. Take a listen and see if you agree and let me know!

Make sure you start listening to Heather Cox Richardson's daily commentaries on our nations political life. You will be better for it. She is on FB, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

  • Memory and Frustration

Memory fades and the frustration with that is undeniable. On this podcast I consider the gradual loss of memory as a factor in my pursuing a lifelong passion. I always thought that when I retired I might return to an abandoned acting career, but will I be able  to remember my lines?

  • Is There A Third Rail?

It used to be that some things were off limits. With the current atmosphere of conspiracy theory as political capital, there don't seem to be any rails at all anymore. Republican leadership is facing an overwhelming dilemma. Do they embrace crazy or try to lead their people back to reality and lose every bit of power they have wrestled from the madding crowd? It is a problem of their own making after years of supporting the Inciter in Chief to try to ride his mad coattails. This podcast looks at how others have faced similar situations and defined their leadership for all time, and how todays leaders are likely to confront the issue today.

  • My Inauguration Spin

My inauguration spin is just that, but it is hard to characterize this 46th episode of this long running show as boilerplate. No, this was amazing and it moved me, more because of what we avoided than what we gained.  Take a listen, see if you can relate to what it all felt like to me.

  • Prophets Profit on the Elderly

Beware of false prophets! These guys are racking up huge numbers on YouTube channels and they trade on the fears that people bring to the table. This recent crop of prophetic voices are, even the day before the inauguration, promising four more years of the Trump presidency to those who are terrified of the browning of America. Your fear is their prophecy.

Don't be fooled. Older people are targeted as victims for every kind of scam one can imagine. Be skeptical, and don't think God is always gonna make you happy.

  • Welcome to Progressively Older

Progressively Older is a podcast dedicated to two ideas. The first is that we are getting older and only one thing is going to stop that, so it's a privilege and we may as well enjoy it. The second is you can remain a progressive as you age. This is definitely a place for the aging, or rather experienced, voice of a better world to come through progressive ideas. Aging empathetically, as the subtitle says, keeping the best in your heart for the most number of people in the world. Listen to the end, as there is an opportunity for your actual voice to be heard on this podcast and contribute to this community of elders of the progressive movement.
