  • What is going on with President Trump and Venezuela with Kelly Thompson

Over the weekend, U.S. forces carried out a bold military operation inside Venezuela that resulted in the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, who are now in custody in New York and facing federal charges. President Donald Trump publicly stated that the United States will ‘run Venezuela’ — at least temporarily — to oversee a transition and manage the country’s vast resources, including its oil. The move has sparked intense debate at home and around the world, with supporters calling it decisive and critics warning it could violate international law and embroil the U.S. in conflict abroad.

Let’s unpack what really happened, what it means for Venezuela and U.S. foreign policy, and why this matters to you. And to help make sense of the latest developments, Kelly Thompson, who is running for Congress in Indiana’s Third District, joins Sarah to discuss this shocking, weekend history in the making, event.
