JPEGMAFIA has a new EP called EP2!.What does it sound like in the context of his EP1!? How many more times can I double up grammatical marks?!
Issues covered in this episode:
Wolverine 6
X-Force 13
Marauders 13
A quick episode to keep pace and the first multi-issue week of X of Swords. Two major X-men characters go after their respective weapons. Wolverine searches for the famous Muramasa blade and Storm goes and steals stuff from her ex-husband the Black Panther.
In episode three of the X of Swords podcast I cover part two of the Hickman led X-men event. X-Factor #4 eschews the concept of the X-Factor comic we've had for its first three issues and goes full on X of Swords Creation follow up. Topics and concepts talked about in this podcast are:
-is the method for "raising the stakes" consistent with what made the X-Hickmanverse special?
-the idea of creating an epic 22 part series and how it doesn't matter if it's bad marketing
-Polaris and her PTSD and her relationship with her father Magneto
-Apocalypse and his hubris
-introductions on the provinces of Otherworld and their role in the series
-the concept of a fighting tournament in the narrative
X of Swords gets its true start with part one of twenty two chapters (who knows how interconnected they are) and the field is set for a number of Apocalypse story lines to come to a head. In this podcast rather than outright review or talk about the plot page by page I take a top down look at the art by Pepe Larraz and colors by Marte Gracia.
I contrast what tarot cards traditionally mean compared to what inferred in Jonathan Hickman and Tini Howard's writing. Apocalypse is a main character in the story and his interactions with other characters have been important and the plot reveals itself when you look at the characters featured in this new X-men crossover event.
X of Swords or Ten of Swords (it's the same thing) needs a podcast so I'll do it. It's a short commitment. Today is the intro episode, the biggest X-men event since HOX/POX starts at the end of September. On this podcast I'll be talking about the three direct Prelude/Introduction comic books that came out this week, Excalibur 12 and X-Men 12. The free comic book day issue had some important 10 of Swords information in it as well.
Let's talk (almost) all the Marvel Comics Being Released in November. This is LONG form podcast where I take the solicitations from the Marvel Comics Previews catalog and use it as a springboard to talk about all sorts of crazy things comics news and comics fan related.

As of this recording I am practicing the whole social distancing thing here in Vegas and I decided to take a walk and talk Marvel releases for June 2020. So join me and listen to me go on off topic rants about the the value of tie-ins to events and how reading Darkhold is like listening to generic punk rock and many other things that I link to comics that have absolutely nothing to do with comics.
Plus free wind and traffic field recordings for you ambient experimental music fans.
