  • Episode 55: The Semple Life

It's time for our new episode! Today, we jam with Stuart Semple and he shares with us how he started his property adventure and his life beyond property.

5 years ago, he caught himself looking for a better return of money than a standard savings account. Then he stumbles upon a book that talks about buying assets and making money work for them. (What book is this!? Do you know?!)

Buying an asset and producing money was a completely unknown concept for him at that time, that was his light bulb moment. He then decided to learn more about property business from there on.

Well, property is a side hustle for Stuart, he is a full-time psychiatrist focusing on forensic science. WOW! We totally dig in when he started talking about FBI and crime investigation like it was sooo normal.

  • Episode 54: Age is Just a Number

Our special guests for today made us realise that age is just a number. It's never too early (or even too late) to start a business and think about the future.

We jam with the two young boys of @premiumpropertyltd, Guy and Harley.

Started a year ago in property and their strategy is to learn as much and connect to as much as many people as possible to build their network. When they started, they plan to do refurbs, refinance and flips however, problems started occurring as they are not 18 yet.

Came 2020, they both became 18 and Harley finally got his driver's license which means they can now to go more viewings and networking events.

Right now, their goal is to progress into property development in their early 20s. Which made us all thinking, what were our goals when we were 18? Do we even think about starting a business already? These guys are truly exceptional!

  • Episode 53: The Good Life of Property

What made you decide to start investing in property?

Today, we jam with Kristina Castellina of @thegoodlife_propertyinvestor.

Kristina decided to start investing in property at 26 because she is so obsessed with Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad Poor Dad. It's been 7 years since then and she's still waiting to meet Robert in person!

Back then, she started going on different trainings and seminars thinking she's gonna be the next Robert Kiyosaki. She's so susceptible to whatever's being offered, that if people say it's is a good idea, she just signs up!

Well, it all seemed to work out for her. After 7 years, she's now reaping the seeds of her hard work and enjoying #TheGoodLife of property, marriage and motherhood.

Oh, and by the way, we we're stoked when she shares about her letting agent being stabbed in the ass! Like REALLY!?

  • Episode 52: A Property Match Made in Tinder Heaven

Who talks about property on their first tinder date?

Alexandra Powell and her now husband, Richard, that's who! On date one, having met on Tinder, they talked about property investment, development and refurbs without knowing that they would eventual tie the knot and become business partners. WE LOVE THIS!!!

Today, Alexandra, of @powell_properties shares with us her story on how she 'accidentally' got into the property business while studying Architecture at University. From a simple discussion with her parents about the cost of renting, she managed to convince them to invest in a 2-bedroom apartment and then rented out the second bedroom. She then sold the house after graduating and this is where her property journey began.

Being married to an Engineer, Alexandra and Richard were both knowledgeable about design and construction but admittedly needed schooling up on the investment side. So, they got educated in property, started meeting people, taking on mentors, reading books and listening to podcasts - and yes, Property Jam included!

As another power couple in property business, Alexandra shares with us how they manage to handle the business as partners and a married couple as well as having a cute little one in the mix as well.

  • Episode 51: The Knight of Investments

Today, we jam with the Knight of Investments, Aaron Knightley.

Aaron started his property journey through project management doing logistics on the industrial side and movement of steel constructions. Aaron had ambition to move beyond this and be an investor himself and set about getting skilled up by investing education and reading books.

And did he make a success if it?! Hell yes. The boy has been on fire ever since and it was just awesome jamming with him on how that journey has been.

The thing that Aaron has truly nailed is raising private finance from high net worth individuals by observing human behaviour and getting himself in the right places at the right time with the right people. And it has massively paid off! He shares some golden nuggets on how he has done this – it is legendary. We rate this fella so much.

For Aaron the human side of property is so much around his observation of human behaviour itself and understanding how to leverage that to raise money and create win-win investments.

  • Episode 50: It's all about giving a sh*t

We're now on to our 50th episode!

And today, we jam with fellow property sister, the one and only Kelly Molson of Avalily Property.

Kelly is new to property but not in entrepreneurship. She co-founded a Digital Agency and has been working on it full-time while also managing a property business – life is busy!

She wanted to start property for the longest time but just never found the time to actually do it. COVID-19 has been a blessing in disguise as it finally pushed her off the cliff in March to kick start her property journey! As a newbie, she was astonished by the massive support from the property community on social media, especially Instagram (we agree!).

Kelly also shares the deeply personal story behind the name of their property business. This is a heartfelt share and we were overwhelmed with sympathy and respect – this will make sense when you listen in. Kelly and her partner are truly beacons of resilience, humility and strength.

Kelly also imparts her life and property philosophy: to give a sh*t about what you do. HELL YES!!!

Don't miss this inspirational episode where Kelly shares to give her heart in property by giving a shit!

As we jam with them, they admit that initially, it was a mess, but we learn how it became the success that it is today.

  • Episode 48: Jess Leader: In life and property "don't be a dick"
When marketing expert and property investor, Jess Leader, shared her life philosophy of "Don't be a dick", we knew we were with one of our own! Jess applies the logic of 'don't be a dick' to life generally but particularly to her property investments where the human traits of respect, compassion and empathy play out massively. Jess shares her story of learning on the job as a landlord but also when working with a joint venture partner and all the lessons she has learned around this. Experience has taught Jess that in the world of property you make deals not find deals. There is no one perfect deal out there so you work with the opportunity each deal offers and manage the challenges! Our episode roulette game forced Jess to admit that her guilty property pleasure is Instagram (think we can all relate...) and interestingly the topic of 'guilt' she experiences as an investor, employee, daughter, partner weaves through our human chat in this episode. We loved this recording and know you will too! #dontbeadick

On the human side of property Ruth talks about the importance of friendship in your investing career and making property fun! We were intrigued to learn that one of her property power tools is a red dress which she pulls out the wardrobe when the need arises! Her famous catchphrase is #BOOM and with the fashion power, knowledge and energy Ruth brings to the property industry you can see why!
