As the second of Dill's Michigan beer adventures, Cheboygan Brewing's "Blueberry Cream Ale" is being sampled. We'll learn what Cheboygan means (not "the good land,") and what goes into this fun to say city's history. Paired with this brew is one of the most important poets of the 20th century, Seamus Heaney. You read that right, this week's poet is none other than famed superstar Pamela Anderson, who wrote a poem for Hugh Hefner at his passing. It's the Bros 100th episode! Except...not really. The Bros have completed 100 ratings, however, so we're past 50 episodes as we continue into our second year of recording Prose and Bros. In celebration, we're looking into the creations of our two intrepid hosts and discussing the creative process. Lindco's first Lager is on discussion, as Skip goes over some of the elements of brewing and what he'd do differently. Viva Las Vegas this week listeners, as the Bros drink a brew brought from Skip's recent trip to Las Vegas. Banger Brewing out of Vegas turns out to be a unique destination for the City of Lights, as craft beer just isn't all that popular a vice for Sin City. Skip found a way, however, and brings "Stormtrooper Paradox" to Prose and Bros with no Star Wars puns. Paired with this stout is Richard Lovelace and his poem "A Paradox." The Bros travel west to Lancaster county this week, where Dill is reminded that the correct pronunciation is like kester not caster. But in addition to his pronunciation being corrected, he'll learn all about the history of brewing in Lancaster county, and how it's lead to Lancaster Brewing Company and their delicious "Strawberry Wheat Ale." While discussing the rise of craft breweries we'll also be reading a local poet William S. Trout, former school teacher and professor of the area. We'll discuss his poem "Du Temps Perdu" which has nothing to do with Big 10 schools, and why this poet with over 750 poems to his name has been relatively unheard of. This Maine brew, perfect for a summer day or any other, takes us through the history of it's head brewer who does the work of ten men! Or at least one Rob Tod.
