This week the Bros go both big and small. They're taking on the behemoth which is Molson Canadian, the type of mega corporation that makes Cyberpunk fears seem real. While they review this brew, they'll also sample a bit of Emile Nelligan, a tragically underappreciated French Canadian poet. Perhaps it's his fate, as the Bros will discuss while reading "Winter Night." They'll also discuss Prince, the meaning behind Milwaukee, and do their best to not butcher the French language. This week, Prose and Bros rhymes with Rimbaud and "Yellow Snow" a joke they certainly have never made before, as we bring you a podcast three weeks in the making. The lost episode is rerecorded and still suffers from technical issues, but that won't stop them from bringing you the beer and poetry history you crave. We'll discuss one of the most prolific poets who never wrote a word after 19, and how being a teenager doesn't excuse you from being a jerk. Along the way, we'll also discuss how a couple of bored executives started Rogue brewing, and produced this disgustingly titled beer. Everything goes wrong this week on Prose and Bros. The Bros get the limited release of Two Stone Pub (2SP)'s "Wawa Winter Reserve Coffee Stout." This combination wakes our hosts up enough to discuss not only 2SP's history, but also the history of that most beloved of convenience marts, Wawa. While drinking this coffee stout, they sample Rachel Field's poetry with "Something Told the Wild Geese." Along with breaking down this pleasant poem, they'll discuss Radcliffe College, how Rachel Field relates to Disney, and, in a change of pace, some interesting goose facts! It may be cold outside, but take out your bicycle and let's go for a ride! This week, the Bros go through the history of New Belgium brewing, and their beer Accumulation. As they sip this against expectation winter ale they'll look into the history of Thomas Hardy, no relation to Ed or Tom. With "In a Wood" the Bros uncover the origin of the phrase "cliff hanger" and ask the question, why are so many poet's deaths shrouded in controversy?

It's the end of the new year and the start of Prose and Bros season two! We end 2020 with a once a year release, Goose Island's Barrel Aged Stout. Ignoring the part of their history when Goose Island is bought by Anheuser-Busch, we'll learn how this macro-brew dominated tastes in the late 90's. Along for the journey is a world renowned Haiku poet, Issa, and his poem "New Year's Morning."

The Bros aren't doing any ratings this week as they prepare for the holidays, instead they're discussing Douglas James Troxell's Cheshire Moon, the 2nd novel from this Lehigh Valley Novelist. In addition to discussing "Doctor Ian Klein," his "Humor Suppression Syndrome," and "people who don't respect the 15-items-or-less lane at the grocery store," they'll also discuss their top five terrible movies. Oh, and they're drinking the fanciest of beers. So come listen in to why the night is better than the day, and the one conspiracy theory that Dill might actually believe in.

What's that causing havoc in the Prose and Bros studio? It's Troeg's "Mad Elf" everyone's favorite (maybe) high octane holiday brew! The bros discuss the history of this delicious treat including a little bit of controversy surrounding the mischievous ale. Paired with "Mad Elf" is John. K. Bangs "The Little Elf" but don't let the size of this poem fool you, it packs a punch! Join us as we once again delve into the history of this poet and learn a little bit about humor in the late 1800's which, yes, did exist.

In their third episode of Prose and Bros, the bros head to the mythical Elysian plains...of Seattle. They'll be sampling Elysian's "Space Dust" IPA and discuss how this craft brewery became a dominant presence in the beer world. Paired with that is poet Edith Sodergarn's "On Foot My Path Wound Through the Solar Systems." Sampling this exquisite poem, the Bros will discuss her history including how a poet neither born nor raised in Sweden can be considered one of the world's most eminent Swedish poets. We'll discuss the unique naming conventions of Evil Genius brewing while sipping this Christmas favorite.
