LAUNCH OUT AT HIS WORD

Luke 5:4-6

“When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭5:4-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

There are few lessons here we can learn in this passage of the scriptures:

Peter was a hard working entrepreneur

At this point the tried and true strategies that had worked in the past - failed him

But against all odds, he trusted the word of the Word Himself

He was not disappointed.

Are you also a hard working entrepreneur who has proven strategies and techniques that have yielded results in the past but now it seems those techniques have ceased to yield as they used to.

Could it be that God is calling your attention to Himself?

From my experience and with examples that abound in the scriptures, we know few things are about to happen when it seems nothing is happening in your favor - what you may call a dry spell:

God is calling you into a new level of relationship with him - we see an example with Moses at the burning bush

Usually, such encounters are followed by a promotion for a greater assignment

Then what must you do?

It’s time to pay closer attention to your relationship with Him

Wait on Him for the Word to turn things around for you

Launch out at His Word:

You might need to revamp your strategy

Level up on your skill

Revisit that place of rejection

Ensure you execute what God gave you as your Word for this season

Then, Be ready for a net breaking breakthrough.

And do not let the fire dwindle in your relationship with God

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your word that’s ever sure. The scriptures say forever oh Lord your word is settled in heaven. Help us to wait on you for the word we need to have a turn around in any stalling growth - be it in business, career or in our relationships. And when we have the word, grant us the grace to launch into the deep at your word for our net breaking catch of a breakthrough. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen! Amen!! Amen!!!

IN A GREAT HOUSE

‭‭II Timothy‬ ‭2:20-21‬

“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.” ‭‭II Timothy‬ ‭2:20-21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I was the little bride for one my sisters at her wedding years ago and though I was around the age of ⅚ at the time, I could remember, some of her wedding package then were special bowls like dishes for special occasions - those dishes were marked specially to indicate ownership BUT we seldom use them throughout my stay with my sister - as I stated in Episode 1 of the Prosperity for Posterity podcast - I didn’t end my duty at the wedding as the little bride - I followed the bride home.

Back to the special dishes - these were special dishes that were always in the “show glass” we used to call it - like a chinaware cabinet. Special wares for special uses.

How does that relate to our Bible verse today, there are different dishes in the home with differing levels of uses. So also everyone in the world today, we are all vessels in this great house and depending on our disposition to God, will determine if we are vessels for honor or not.

Even of pharaoh God said:

“For the Scripture says to the Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.”” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭9:17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

How may you be vessel for honor for the Master’s use in this great house - vs 21 tells us “Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work”

The material of the vessel here notwithstanding. The materials we can liken to the talents - the giftings. It does not matter how endowed or not you are. Inasmuch as you separate yourself - God is ready to prepare you for every good work.

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you because it pleases you to make us vessels for honor in this world. Daddy, we pray that you grant us the grace to continue to separate ourselves as you prepare us for good works in our homes, community, and the world at large. In Jesus' mighty name we have prayed. Amen! Amen!! Amen!!!

Fruitful Labor

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:58‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose].”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:58‬ ‭AMP‬‬

When anyone engages in any venture or any form of work with the end in mind, it is a lot easier to wade through any challenge that might come on the way.

I love the way Simon Sinek puts it in his book - “Start with Why”:

>>Working hard for something we do not care about is called stress, working hard for something we love is called passion.

And if I may add, knowing with whom we work and understanding that He’s a rewarder of all who seek him diligently - we will ever be steadfast, immovable and excel in our work with Him.

Do you feel your boss does not appreciate your tireless efforts? I think that might be where the problem lies, thinking and believing you're working for a person. Henceforth, do everything as unto God.

Your reward comes from God not from any man. When he’s ready to elevate you even the seemingly wicked boss will have no choice than to oblige.

My good people, always keep this top of mind: your labor in the Lord is neither futile nor wasted. Settle these in your mind:

know why you do what you do

Keep focus no matter what you’re faced with

even when it seems nobody appreciates you

always remember God owes no man

Your labor is fruitful and you will not miss your reward.

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for the opportunity to continue to work with you in your vineyard and in the area of our calling in the world. We pray you grant us the grace to always keep our focus on you and to do all as unto you and not as unto any man. We declare every of our labor is fruitful in Jesus' mighty name! Amen! Amen!! Amen!!!

The Answer Is Already a No If You Don’t Ask

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:7-8‬

““Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:7-8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

One of my bosses used to say to me - You’ve got to ask, because the answer is already a no if you don’t ask.

The first time I heard him say that I had to ponder it. And I could see it made logical sense.

And I have tried it in a number of cases and found that it is absolutely true - like asking for discounts, asking for favor - oh I used to fear hearing “No” when I ask people for favor, so I just wouldn’t ask.

But it becomes even more of a disservice to me, if I now approach God with such fear - fear of God saying no to my request. At a point - I coated it as “contentment” before God - I was not asking for more and when I did, I was very modest in my asking.

But what I have realized over time is - we demonstrate our trust in God’s ability to provide and grant our requests when we are lavish with our asking.

When next you want to ask God something, picture your child asking you - how will you feel if your child asks timidly and small vs. when he/she asks proudly and affirms you are able to do what you ask.

“Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:9-11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Let us pray:

Dear heaven father, we thank you because it pleases you to grant us the desires of our heart. Daddy we pray that you give us the grace to always ask in faith and in accordance to your will. In Jesus' mighty name we pray. Amen! Amen!! Amen!!!

I am a Partaker of The Divine Nature

II Peter‬ ‭1:2-4‬

“Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” II Peter‬ ‭1:2-4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Welcome to the final day of our 5-day gratitude challenge

Today’s gratitude focus is our health. Here is the prompt: What are three things about your health you are grateful for? Remember to include your mental & physical health.

Today’s devotional is an affirmation rooted in the scriptures pertaining to our new nature in Christ.

Becoming a partaker of the divine nature means that the characteristics of God’s nature is now my own. For example, among other things, we know God’s nature is: Love

God is Love

Then that means I am love:

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:4-8

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails… ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:4-8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

So as partakers of God’s divine nature - Love - we are by nature - patient, kind, humble, honor, selfless, we are good and celebrate the truth. And so on and so forth.

Another characteristics of God’s nature is Divine health:

Beloved, I wish above all things that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers (3 John vs 2).

Since we know there’s no sickness or ill health in God - that is, it’s not in God’s nature to be ill, as partakers of His divine nature, we then can live perpetually healthy;

The World Health Organization defines health as "A state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and does not consist only of the absence of disease or infirmity

That means you are partaker of perpetually healthy life - a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being.

It is your inheritance - lay hold of it today

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for your divine nature we are now partaker of through the redemptive work of Christ. Daddy, i pray that you grant us the grace to believe and embrace your divine nature - as love, in perpetual health and other glorious inheritance you have for us. In the name mighty name. Amen! Amen!! Amen!!!

Key To Generational Wealth

Deuteronomy 8:18

““And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”

Key To Generational Wealth

One of the keys to generational wealth is REMEMBERING THE LORD YOUR GOD.

The best legacy you can leave for your children is to teach them by showing them how to serve God.

“Wicked people will go to the grave. So will all those who forget God.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭9:17‬ ‭ICB‬‬

Any man, or woman, who forgets God, the Bible says has no legacy - their wealth die with them.

When you teach your children to love God and serve Him all the days of their lives, then that scriptures says God Himself will see to it that your legacy endures:

So as you are teaching and building your children up in their career and working to build a lasting legacy of riches for them, ensure that you first and foremost show them the path to God.

A common Yoruba adage comes to mind at this point: it is a child that one neglects to build that will sell (for pennies) the houses (wealth) you used your whole life to build.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭22:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Do you have children that are just not yielding to your training - lift them up in prayer to God and He will uphold them even at a point when it might seem they have lost their ways.

And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, we that you because it is you that gives us the power to get wealth and we thank you for the reminder to always remember you and teach our children to do the same. Daddy, we declare today that as for us and our households we shall serve you from generation to generation. In Jesus' mighty name I’ve prayed. Amen! Amen!! Amen!!!

In one of my recent episodes of these devotionals I spoke about “Saved to Serve” and today I want to touch on the benefits of serving.

Not sure if you picked it yet, personally and in the Prosperity for Posterity community, service is one of our top 5 values.

Serving or in line with today’s title - giving back - is one way by which we show our gratitude to God for all His many blessings in our lives.

King David showed us how he will show his gratitude:

He will praise God for his salvation

And he will fulfill his vows; he will do what he promised God he will do.

I love the way Jesus summed it up when he summarized the law.

“Then one of the scribes [an expert in Mosaic Law] came up and listened to them arguing [with one another], and noticing that Jesus answered them well, asked Him, “Which commandment is first and most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The first and most important one is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord;”

“and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul (life), and with all your mind (thought, understanding), and with all your strength.’ This is the second: ‘You shall [unselfishly] love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.””

So, in all you do in career and business - do all so that

God is glorified and that

You fulfill your purpose - in other words, men are blessed through you.

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the salvation of our souls. Daddy we pray that you help us to fulfill the very purpose for which you created us. In Jesus' mighty name we pray. Amen! Amen!! Amen!!!

Offense is never a situation that can be 100% avoided in a relationship. There’s a common saying among Nigerians that goes: “If 2 brothers entered a room to have a heart to heart talk and they came out laughing, they have only lied to each other.”

However the goal is not to never offend or be offended but we have been called to an even higher standard: To be forgiving towards others.

Let me pause here and say: Look inward right now - are there things you need to forgive YOURSELF for?

Take this time and tell yourself - “Omowunmi, I forgive you for:______________.

I asked you to do that for yourself because you can not give what you don’t have. And we have been called to love our neighbor as ourselves - it just follows then to forgive others as you have forgiven yourself.

Now, back to others

Say of yourself “I AM FORGIVING” with an ING

That’s who you are - you forgive easily. You are forgiving.

Can you hear how powerful that makes you feel? You hold the power to let go - now exercise that power. Forgive anyone who may have offended you - even if they are not repentant nor remorseful.

Now, if you have offended someone - seek their forgiveness and lend yourself to making peace with them.

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you Lord for forgiving our sins as we forgive the sins of others. Grant us the grace to obey your command to forgive others. In Jesus' mighty name we pray. Amen! Amen!! Amen!!!

Day 2 gratitude prompt:

Identify those relationships (at least 2 cases) that are hard and stretches you. In what way has God used these relationships to develop your character? Be grateful for them.

Forget Not

“Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:”

Count your blessings name them one by one

Count your blessings see what God has done

And it will surprise you what that Lord has done.
