Residents of Gaza say Israeli forces dropped leaflets today, warning Palestinians to flee parts of southern Gaza. That signals a possible expansion of their operations to the zone where most of the territory’s population has fled to escape Israel’s bombardment and ground assault.

Lack of fuel may soon shut down the United Nations’ entire humanitarian operation in the Gaza Strip, according to the head of the agency responsible for supplying aid to the territory.

President Joe Biden spoke at the Asia-Pacific Economic Summit (APEC) in San Francisco, saying the decisions made there will affect the entire world. He highlighted the strong ties between the U.S. and the other 20 members of APEC and emphasized the importance of high labor standards and workers’ rights. The speech comes a day after Biden met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the summit.

Spain’s Socialist Prime Minister secured a second four year term today four months after hard fought parliamentary elections were held last July. The new government relies on support from separatist political leaders in Spain’s Catalan region. They were promised amnesty for pro independence activity in Catalunya. Tens of thousands of conservative and right wing opponents to amnesty have held sometimes violent protests in recent days.

Judge David Friedman of New York’s intermediate appeals court issued a stay on the gag order that barred Donald Trump from maligning court staff in his fraud trial.

Republican Congressman George Santos of New York says he won’t run for reelection in 2024 after a scathing House Ethics Committee report on his conduct cited “overwhelming evidence” of lawbreaking.
