We’re back! Andy and Daniel kick off our study of our next book - 1 Timothy. In this opening chapter, Paul warns Timothy about wayward teachers who have come up from within the church. Paul encourages Timothy to stay in Ephesus to contend with this newfound threat and begins to set the stage for ways to resolve the issue moving forward to ensure the church in Ephesus stays faithful to the Gospel.

In these final chapters John gives an account of some of the encounters Jesus had with his disciples and others after his Resurrection. In the last chapter, Jesus shares a special moment in which he reinstates Peter after his previous denial.

In fulfilling his ultimate purpose on earth, Jesus is tried, condemned and executed on a Roman cross. All of this takes place in less than 24 hours as the Passover Festival begins in Jerusalem.

Jesus finishes his farewell address by sharing more about the role of the coming Holy Spirit. He concludes by praying for his disciples and for all those that would come to believe in him through their testimony.

In these chapters, Jesus begins his farewell address to his disciples to prepare them for what to expect when he leaves. Amidst the encouragement and pleas to cling to true obedience, he assures them that they will not be left alone.

John transitions his readers from Jesus’s general ministry and miracles to the moments leading up to the cross in this chapter. In the privacy of the upper room, Jesus begins the Passover meal with his disciples and leaves a lasting mark by the example he sets.

The first half of John’s gospel comes to a close here in chapter 12 as all of Jesus’s previous teachings and signs culminate in this moment where he clearly reveals himself to be King at the Triumphal Entry. Unfortunately, most people did not fully understand just how widespread this kingdom would one day become.

In these chapters Jesus offers three more “I am” statements and reminds us that he is our good shepherd, the gate, and the resurrection.  He also performs one more incredible sign by raising his friend Lazarus from the dead.
