When Saul was converted to Christ, his question was "What must I do?" For the rest of his life, he would restlessly pursue a life lived for and unto God. Whilst keeping his eyes on the Lord, it is clear to us that he could not do enough to promote and proclaim Christ.

Isaiah speaks to the children of Israel and urges them to behold and see, that the Lord will do a new thing. Gospel blessing and grace will flow to a people held in Babylon. He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. The Lord can and will do wonderful things to revive His work in the midst of the years.

As we reach the end of another year, we must evaluate three unproductive looks: the downward look, the sideways look, and the inward look. Rather, we should direct our gaze upward, once again acknowledging that "Great is Thy Faithfulness." Appreciating God's faithfulness takes time, a proper perspective, and tangible evidence. After experiencing His unwavering commitment, we are encouraged to share His faithfulness with others.

The Lord Jesus Christ clearly proclaimed Himself to the light of the world, not one of many lights. He is the eternal light and the only one who can secure an entrance into heaven for us. We must go to the light and leave the darkness.

The greatest Giver has bestowed the greatest gift. The Apostle Paul describes Christ and eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord as the most indescribable and unspeakable gift, too marvellous to fully express in words. It is through the incarnation, life, death, and atoning work of Christ that this precious gift has become a reality to those who come by repentance and faith to receive it.

Wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, just like the Queen of Sheba to King Solomon, they came to meet a King. They had studied the many prophesies of old, knew what to look for, and came to worship. We must follow their example and search for Christ, not just in the manager but at the foot of the cross.

In stark contrast to the Religious leaders' teaching, Christ taught that God's moral laws are broken first in the heart. We note the snowball effect of Adultery, which leads to the breaking of 5 other commandments. Christ requires loyalty from us in every aspect and part of life. We need Christ as Lord and Saviour of our lives.

The Bible has a unique ability to explain profound and wonderful truths in just a few words. Take the incarnation of the Lord Jesus for example; we find several three word phrases that powerfully explain what the coming of Christ as a baby in Bethlehem is really about.

In Christ's Sermon on the Mount, He tackled the legacy of traditions and misinterpretations that hindered a genuine understanding of the moral law. The Scribes' thinking was so narrow and literal. By contrast, Christ spoke with real authority, challenging the prevailing misconceptions, establishing and unveiling the broader implications of these timeless truths.

As Isaiah looked to the future, he saw a coming King unlike any other. One who would reign in righteousness. He was speaking of Christ. Christ would be a man, yet also uniquely serve as a refuge from the winds and a shelter from life's storms. He would provide rivers of living water in the desert and be like the shadow of a mighty rock. Run to Christ for safety. He will be all in all to you.
