Today's passage in Revelation 8 is a difficult one to comprehend in its fullness, as is much of John's vision recorded for us. While we will endeavor to explore some of the more plausible interpretations of the details of these verses, our focus will be on that which we can know for certain- God hears the prayers of His saints. We know this because of our one and only perfect advocate, the man Jesus Christ. Revelation 6 brings us to the opening of the 7 seals of the scroll described in chapter 5. This passage is both vivid and well known, as it has inspired more than a few references in popular media. We will explore the events represented by the imagery, all the while remembering that is Christ who brings them to pass, and it is He who is sovereign over them. While they are a terror to the unredeemed, believers can rest assured that if they are to experience these tribulations, they will be for the good of those who love Christ, and therefor we have nothing to fear as we walk through the suffering our loving heavenly savior has prepared for us.
