Dr. Mishlove is the author of an encyclopedic volume of consciousness studies, The Roots of Consciousness. He holds the only doctoral diploma in “Parapsychology” to be awarded by an accredited American university (University of California, Berkeley). A revision of his doctoral dissertation, Psi Development Systems, was released in 1988 as a Ballantine paperback. This book evaluates methods purported to train psychic abilities. His newest book, The PK Man presents a case study of unusual psychokinetic abilities.

Jeffrey Mishlove, Ph.D., is an accomplished radio and television interviewer, and one of the most erudite and articulate personalities in the media. Charles T. Tart is internationally known for his more than 50 years of research on the nature of consciousness, altered states of consciousness (ASCs) and parapsychology, and is one of the founders of the field of Transpersonal (spiritual) Psychology. His work convinced him that there is a real important sense in which we are spiritual beings, but the too dominant materialist philosophy of our times, masquerading as genuine science, denies any possible reality to the spiritual.

Dr. Tart was born in 1937 and grew up in Trenton, New Jersey. He was active in ham radio (K2CFP), worked as a radio engineer (First Class Radiotelephone License) while still a teenager, and studied electrical engineering at MIT before deciding to become a psychologist. He received his Ph.D. in psychology, with research on influencing night time dreams by posthypnotic suggestions, from the Universi­ty of North Carolina in 1963, and then received postdoctoral training in hypnosis research at Stanford.

He is an Emeritus Professor, Core Faculty Member at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (Palo Alto,California) (a unique Ph.D. granting institution that believes you should educate a person’s body, spirit and emotions as well as their talking mind!) and Professor Emeritus of Psychology at the Davis campus of the University of California. He consulted on the original remote viewing research at Stanford Research Institute, where some of his work was important in influencing government policy makers against the deployment of the multi-billion dollar MX missile system.

His most recent book, The End of Materialism: How Evidence of the Paranormal is Bringing Science and Spirit Together (2009), overviews his half century of research in parapsychology and shows that, as too many believe, it is not the case that science has somehow proven that all spirituality is nonsense. Rather it is reasonable, indeed necessary, to be both scientific and spiritual in one’s approach to life.. He has had more than 250 articles published in professional journals and books, including lead articles in such prestigious scientific journals as Science and Nature.

Peat obtained his PhD from Liverpool University and moved to the National Research Council of Canada where he carried out research in theoretical physics. In 1971 Peat took a sabbatical at the University of London with Roger Penrose and David Bohm. After returning to Canada, Peat left the National Research Council and continued to collaborate with David Bohm, as well as turning to writing books. Peat is the author of over twenty books.
