  • Episode 40: Our Father (ft. Felicia Ting)

    Content Warning: sexual assault, infertility

This week I am joined by my colleague and special guest, Felicia Ting, Psy.D. We talk about the horrifying documentary, Our Father, the story of a doctor who abused his position as an infertility expert to inseminate women with his own sperm. Truly scary stuff that has a lot more to do with psychology than you might think.

  • Episode 39: Gone Girl

    Content Warning: sexual assault, violence

Still reeling from Roe, I felt it was appropriate to talk about a movie/book with an angry female character hell-bent on vengeance against the patriarchy 🙃I love this book and film, it's a great feminist examination of the pressures of the patriarchy. I also talk about how our romantic partners shouldn't be solely responsible for our well-being and self-actualization.

  • Episode 38: Abortion in Movies

    Content Warning: abortion, stalking

In the wake of Roe v. Wade being overturned, I figured it would be a good idea to share some information about the psychological ramifications of abortion and talk about how abortion has been portrayed over time. Spoiler alert: abortion is healthcare and is not correlated to severe negative psychological consequences. Listen to the episode to learn more.

  • Episode 33: Jordan Peterson vs Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Cover

I was planning a different episode but had to respond to the recent kerfuffle on Twitter featuring Dr. Jordan B. Peterson. It's not okay to body shame and it's definitely not okay when you are representing yourself as a clinical psychologist 👀
