Coming late into academia has allowed me to experience many careers in a variety of different sectors, but always in a people-focused role. Experience in the public sector when a young apprentice, helped me gain good interpersonal skills. Working as a health care assistant, taught me how to be compassionate. When in a teaching and assessors role on how to listen, observe and facilitate. Later, employed as a specialist domiciliary assistant with special needs children and young people, often on the autistic spectrum, gave me purpose and reward. Being diagnosed with Dyslexia only a few years ago was a revelation, but not a surprise, which has led to a better understanding of self and my abilities as an individual. My desire has always been to help people, working with empathy and understanding in an authentic way, guided by my values. My psychology degree paved the way into coaching and a natural progression was a PG in coaching, which I achieved at a London University, with a distinction. I plan to continue my studying with an MSc in coaching next year.
