The recognized effects of trauma are many, but they often manifest themselves as shame and grief in the life of the victim. God has promised us that through Christ we can reframe our disgrace into glory and our distress into genuineness if we will accept that what is meant as harm at the hands of others can be understood as God preparing us to do good to save others in peril. It is important to know how we can be helped and help others suffering from trauma and this message explores this mystery. 

Injustice is the "cause celebre" of our day and it is a noble cause but often done without the perspective of the one who is all about justice. The nature of God is all about justice, and injustice is something He requires we fight. But we must fight injustice by doing justice, loving kindness, and walking humbly before Him according to Micah 6:8. True justice can only be achieved through the wounds and wisdom of Christ, and it is our privilege to do justice that way and help those traumatized by the evil injustice in this world.

As those with trauma suffer around us, we need to see clearly when our neighbor is in trouble. This message will help us to know what to look for, and how we can help in the immediate and long-term. You will be invited to join God's Good Samaritan Trauma Team who offer comfort and mercy to those who are suffering around us.

We take a deeper dive into the unrecognized trauma which is the basis of the recognized trauma in our lives. We learn we have a "Man of Sorrows/Great Physician" who is the only one who can bring us true help and healing for the trauma we go through.  Only Jesus can help and heal us so that we can lead others to Him so He can help and heal them too. It matters not the trauma we have incurred, Jesus can help us.

The last 6 months have been traumatizing to the church. Reports from informed sources say that the majority of pastors have confessed they are ready to quit because the lack of attendance and giving and the added burden of becoming "internet sensations" is too much to bear. The Christians choosing to stay at home are feeling isolated and all believers are feeling intimidated by the powers that be that keep telling us it isn't safe to fellowship. Our response at PCOC? Pastor Mike isn't quitting. We are ready to leap forward in faith and turn what Satan has intended for bad into something good. We are going learn from Jesus how to express godly hope in the midst of any suffering, share in the shame others feel, and demonstrate sympathy to those who are hurting as they try to heal from their pain. We are here to serve the hurting and this message lays our our strategy.

To kneel or not to kneel has become the question of our time. But Christians are commanded to bow only to God and that kneeling before this world is part of a scheme of Satan to tame the Spirit of God in believers. Using the example of Jesus, this message will help you stand against Satan's schemes by not allowing Satan, society or even self to cause you to neglect, quench, or grieve the powerful Spirit of God which is working in you to save you and others.

A shameless life is a gift from God that comes to us as we build our life on the cornerstone of Christ Jesus.  Many today are choosing to reject Christ as the basis of our understanding of this world and trying to shame believers into rejecting Christ as they do. This message challenges us to be courageous, confident and certain so that we can enjoy the shameless gift of God. 

How should Christians respond to the riots that rage around our country? The blame game is in full force these days, and the church and Christians are among those institutions being blamed for the inequity in our country.  In this week's message from our "How To" summer series, we consider what the bible teaches us about this issue. We use the covenant God made with Abraham as the basis of our understanding. 

The world is trying to emphasize our differences and some in the world are exploiting those differences with impure motives. But what does the bible teach us about being "sameless"? God has made us diverse and different on the outside, but on the inside we all are the same in God's eyes. Through Christ, He has provided a solution to racial strife and conflict and in this message from our How To summer series we consider what God says about it all.

Distracted by the calls to "save the planet", young adults often don't have any real understanding of the real condemnation that awaits this earth. As we learned from the story of Noah, saving this world is a "feel good" deception that is meant to prevent us from "gettin' on the boat, gettin' baptized, and gettin' on board.
