Here we are at the very end of 2021. You made it! You’re still here, and chances are you’ve learned a lot over the past 12 months. Would you consider yourself a “go-getter”? Do you throw your all into your ministry and other work, and take pride in being busy and accomplishing all of the goals you set for yourself? Being a go-getter can be a great thing! But, as this week’s Publishing Secrets guest, Sarah Buckland, learned, pushing yourself too hard and trying to do too many things – even good things! – can have serious consequences. When a sudden health crisis forced Sarah to put all of her work aside and rest, she learned the importance of slowing down and spending time in silence with God instead.

Is there a call you’ve been resisting? This week’s Publishing Secrets guest, Jeaninne Stokes, ignored God’s call to leave her full-time job for an entire year, but it kept coming back until she finally listened and obeyed. Jeaninne describes her journey as leaving Egypt and entering the wilderness, but God carried her through into a writing ministry through which she is now able to help other Christian writers answer God’s call on their own lives. Listen and let Jeaninne encourage you to obey God’s prompting and take that first step.

When is it too late to answer God’s call on your life? This week’s Publishing Secrets guest, Carol Neelands, argues that it’s never too late. In fact, Carol believes that her life story would have had a very different ending if she had written it too soon. Listen as Carol shares her story of overcoming pride, being transparent about failures, and getting a slow start to writing – but being used for God’s greater purposes despite it all.

Have you felt God urging you to write your message now, while others in your life are telling you to wait? This week’s Publishing Secrets guest, Susanne Weegmann, had just finished publishing a different book, but she knew she couldn’t wait to write her devotional, even though friends and family were telling her to rest. Susanne needed prayer and encouragement from other believers, but with God’s help she was able to push through and get her message out to the generation that needs to hear it – and she encourages you to do the same.

Are you going through life without really experiencing it? Do you find yourself in a place of darkness and despair? This week’s Publishing Secrets guest, Tarrent-Arthur Henry, has been there. It took Tarrent-Arthur arriving at his lowest point for him to hear God’s voice, but once he started listening, he realized that he had a message of hope and love to share with the world – and he wants you to know that you do, too.

Courtnaye knows what it’s like to be constantly on the go and to worry that your efforts may be in vain. But she also knows the importance of consistently showing up.
