Take it a little easier this week with Joe and Mike as they discuss an idea about something that could make society a little bit better. Joe debuts a new segment of the show this week and, wouldn’t you know it but, Mike assures us Ohio has amazing Chili!

Joe and Mike try to approach the question of the NFL, as sports viewers and enthusiasts with an open mind(ish). This is truly a question and conversation reflective of the time it was recorded, who knows how this shakes out? Truths and questions abound!

Mike and Joe have a conversation about historical accuracy in film and the creative media at large. They name drop plenty of your past and recent favorites as they wrestle with the good and bad from good and bad historical representations.

Believe it or not, Mike leads the way in this conversation about a very relevant, if infrequently thought about, segment of the United States Constitution. Mike & Joe discuss the meaning of The Emoluments Clause (Article 1, Section 9), what it is and why it’s important for US democracy.

Joe & Mike discuss an event from Joe’s past that legally prohibits him from entering Canada. In a first for the Pulpit, this particular episode features two questions to ponder instead of one. Of note, this discussion features some heavier issues that finds the two without some of the answers.

This week, Mike & Joe welcome Mr. Charles Chuman onto the ‘cast to discuss an article written by John Dickerson in The Atlantic’s May issue. The three discuss Mr. Dickerson’s article about the current nature of the Executive Branch and how the job has become more than one person can handle. Look; 5 is the new 4, and 6 is the new 5. This is almost a two-issue episode as Mike & Joe start with a question about the pros and cons of attending college. Then, the conversation takes a pretty sharp turn as the two offer words of warning and encouragement to those that would seek a degree in the Arts. If you know someone that wants to major in Theater, Radio, Dramatic Arts, Fine Arts, Music, etc…toss this episode their way. Mike and Joe are certain that they’ll want to hear it.

Today’s conversation is sparked by a conversation Joe had on the phone regarding the upcoming election in Missouri. Mike peppers Joe with additional questions as the two discuss third party politics and the potential or stigma surrounding them.
